Supposedly, it wouldn't taste as perfectly as it was. It was supposed to be as normal as an egg. I am not sure if it was due to the cold weather in Genting Highlands, my hands were immediately warmed by the full-boiled eggs as I held them, although they slowly turned to become hot. I sat down at a corner to remove the egg shells, and ate while I walked around First World Plaza. It felt so good in the chilly weather!

Nasi Marrybrown. It was served with rice cooked in coconut milk, together with pandan leaves, and came with crunchy peanuts, anchovies, freshly hand cut acar, a piece of juicy fried chicken, and Marrybrown's authentic sambal. It also came together with generous amount of crispy snack. The portion was just right for a big eater like my boyfriend, Don.

Hotouch Burger. I have always loved burger that comes together with a piece of chicken that looks like this, which explains my choice. How should I explain? It tasted similarly to McDonald's Spicy Chicken McDeluxe, but not exactly similar. Marrybrown's has a piece of melting cheese in it, whereas McDonald's doesn't. The spiciness is not as much as McDonald's as well.

I was satisfied by the taste of both, probably because I hadn't been eating fast food for a period of time. My stomach was fully filled as well. It's just the spiciness that didn't satisfy me.

It was my second visit ever since 2008 or 2009, just because I wanted to see if they have improved. My answer? NEVER!

Prawn Fried Rice. It was tasteless. The prawns were merely cooked with pure boiling water, and the fried rice was completely tasteless, although egg is added.

Chicken Floss Fried Rice. This was slightly better than my Prawn Fried Rice, because of the chicken floss added on top. If we didn't mix everything together, it would be almost tasteless as well.

Hot Tea. I couldn't remember if we ordered Hot Green Tea or Chinese Tea, but I guess it was the former. It's just a cup of overpriced hot tea anyway.

The only good thing about it was that our table was situated at a place where we could watch the performances on the stage, which sort of made us forget about the disappointing, pricey food. I will be sure to never return to this restaurant ever again.

The only branch of Nyonya Colors that I have visited before this was in 1 Utama Shopping Centre. My impression on that particular branch is never negative, regardless of the fact that it tends to run out of seats most of the time. That indicates good food! Since Don had never once tried their food, we decided to visit the one in Genting Highlands when we discovered it in First World Plaza.

Kuih Ketayap. It is one of the most common Malay desserts in Malaysia, made of a piece of green pancake wrapping a huge bunch of caramelized, grated coconut flesh. You should never miss it, especially now when there will be several streets selling Malay food due to Hari Raya Puasa.

To save the best for the last, although it is weird to eat it in such a way, I love to dig out and finish the coconut flesh before eating the green pancake, because I always love pancakes like this.

Kuih Talam. My top favorite! The top layer in white is made of coconut milk and the bottom layer is made of pandan. It really has very strong fragrance of coconut and pandan. And when I say it’s very strong, it’s really, really, REALLY very strong and heavenly good! The saltiness of the top layer blended well with the bottom layer and made it less sweet.

I actually ordered another one when Don went to place his second order. Hehe!

Pulut Tai Tai. The glutinous rice is colored with some bluish liquid extracted from a type of plant. This dessert is very famous in Peranakan or Nyonya cuisine, and it should never go wrong with some good kaya.

Nasi Lemak Packet. It is just an ordinary typed of packed Nasi Lemak that came together with sambal, peanuts and anchovies, and half of a hard-boiled egg. Don had it, and it wasn't filling enough for his tummy, so he proceeded to the second option.

Teh Tarik. It tasted like an ordinary cup of Teh Tarik, and I thought it was good to have it as my brunch along with the delicious food.

Roti Jala with Curry Chicken. It definitely wasn't my first time to have this as my meal at Nyonya Colors, because they’re always too good. The Roti Jala was soft and springy, and its texture was very similar to the green pancake that I mentioned previously. Dip it with the curry and you’re good to go! The best thing of all? They never served me with chicken breast. It’s always either drumstick or chicken thigh.

lol

Yellow Laksa. This was Don's second option. I couldn't really describe the taste because it wasn't quite explainable. Was it ginger? I am not too sure. Nevertheless, the sambal was extremely spicy to the extent that his sweat poured down his face like tap water, on a cold weather.

Since the foods available in First World Plaza are always overpriced and disappointing, you should consider paying a visit to this outlet for food with much better quality. Highly recommended indeed!

Jia, Food for the Seasons is one of the food courts in Genting Highlands, and there is quite some variety of foods available to be chosen.

It was almost 7.30pm when Don and I settled down and placed our order. Since we had our lunch only at around 3.00pm, we decided to share a pot of Claypot Chicken Rice, one of the most common Chinese foods found mainly in China, Malaysia, and Singapore. The portion was just right for a normal person’s preferred portion. It was also fine for two persons, which one must be a smaller eater while another one must be a big eater, just like me and Don.

Taste wise, it was still within the standard. The chicken that came together in the pot was surprisingly quite tender as well. Just in case you do not know, those in red were sausages, and they’re very common in all types of Claypot Chicken Rice served in this country. Indeed, it will be a good place for a proper meal, although everything available in the food court is always capable of burning a big hole in your pocket.

We will definitely consider to return to this place again to try out the other foods!
