Assam Siakap Smile Jul 25, 2012   (Related Review)

Assam Siakap
The assam fish is one of my favourite in Alicafe with the chef's special assam gravy where is rich and strong in bringing out the sourness and spiciness to the dish. The deep fried siakap is placed on top of the gravy instead of showering it like usual. I love the crispy outer layer while enjoying the smooth and soft meat and the gravy isn't too sour but is a little bit spicy to me.

Grilled Vegetable
The grilled vegetable with sambal hebi hiam sauce is pure awersome and spicy. The mixed vegetable consist of long bean, brinjal, and lady finger where they are all well cooked with crunchiness still preserved to it. The sauce is actually make of sambal with the additional of fine grind dried prawn and that explain why the sauce is extra aromatic and strong in both flavour and taste. This is the fundamental dish for all the grilled dish except that it is cheaper compare to those with meat. I

Of all the three sauce / gravy, I think sambal hebi hiam is the best, with rich and thick flavour and not forgetting the mixture of Malay and Chinese ingredient in making it.

Signature Taro Q
Queen of Spades served Taiwanese dessert and now new opening in Klang recently. With the theme of queen spades, the decoration is very special. The dessert served just like those traditional Taiwanese dessert in Snowflake, meet fresh... This is the signature dessert here with the Yam taro, glass jelly, milk on top and ice. The yam taro is very fresh, home made Yam taro. It is very Q and chewy but the yam taste is very light. The glass jelly is smooth with sweetness, taste good. This dessert is really cooling me and the fresh milk on top enhance the taste of fresh yam taro and balance the sweetness.

Grilled Pari Fish Smile Jul 25, 2012   (Related Review)

Grilled Pari Fish
We ordered our grilled pari fish with the choice of gulai lemak, where it is tradition in Malay cuisine where lemak brings out the extra flavour and fragrant of individual dish. The fish is well grilled with a very soft and tender meat on it and is mixed with long bean, brinjal, and lady finger. I love the fish because the bone is located at the center and it is easy to consume. The rich gravy actually did its part by giving spiciness to the dish and giving satisfaction to the diner.

Grilled Lamp Chop Smile Jul 25, 2012

Grilled Lamp Chop
There are three different choice of gravy you can choose from to go with any grilled dish and we had the sambal lemak. Serves burning hot, the aromatic dish is appetizing by its smell and had a well balance of colour. There are brinjal, lady finger, and long bean stir fried in the choice of gravy and shower all around 2 medium size of well grilled lamb which is cooked in perfect timing to preserves the meat from turning hard. I think there's still room for improvement on this dish but all in all, it is a good dish that doesn't disappoint me.
