Satay in Shopping Mall! OK Jul 28, 2012

Categories : Malay | Restaurant | Noodles | Nasi Lemak

Kampung Fried Rice - RM9.90
I ordered the kampung fried rice as I was in the mood for it that day. It looks and smells great actually, but one taste of it and I was shocked at how salty the whole dish is. They put alot of soya sauce to the point I can really call this soya sauce fried rice. I would have preferred to cook my own fried rice and eat at home... If you really like salty food, maybe it suites you, I don't know. All I know that this dish has exceeded my tolerance for saltiness in the food.

Chicken Satay Set - RM12.90 (10 sticks)
Nevertheless, their chicken satay really did save the day. It was very very nice indeed, I would say better than Kajang satay. But this was expensive and we couldn't just fill our tummies with satay alone. So it was best eaten as a side dish to complement the main dishes. Too bad I think, if they had focused on improving their main dishes, they could have attracted much more customers to come for their satay. Let's hope that they would do that in the future.

E cThe 1st restaurant I went for the 1st time I visited KLCC and it is still my favourite place to hang out. Whenever, I am craving for Japanese curry, here is always my priority. They served quite nice Japanese curry which I love it very much.
chicken katsu curry

chicken katsu curry

This is the dish I repeatly order for every visit. Although the price is high, it it is worth. RM26.90 for a plate of curry rice with chicken katsu. The curry taste very good, not salty. I hate carrot a lot but the carrot in the curry taste really nice. The carrot was soft and more important no carrot's smell. A good dish to recommend.

Restaurant Sogo Jepun  Smile Jul 25, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Seafood

We went to the Restaurant Sogo Jepun some time ago last year but I forgot to post the review up. They had an ongoing promotion of RM15 per value meal, valid daily from 2.30pm - 9.00pm. On weekends and Public Holidays its 11.00am - 9.00pm. It's been quite a long time therefore I'm not sure whether this promotion is still ongoing. Nevertheless, many people don't know about this Japanese restaurant at the top floor because it is located at the back, quite far away from the food court; you have to walk pass secret recipe to get there. The food is actually not bad, worth to try it out if you happen to be shopping in Sogo.

Value Meal: Teppanyaki Chicken + Yasai Itame - RM15
The traditional teppanyaki Chicken with vegetables. It tastes not bad, just that the vegetables are slightly too salty. The one thing that is unusual here is the Jelly that they serve instead of fruits. I kinda like fruits actually as the jelly does not go along well with Japanese food.

Value Meal: Tori Misoyaki + Mini Salad - RM15
This Tori Misoyaki is rather special and you can't find it everywhere in Japanese restaurants. I did notice that these Teppanyaki dishes are cooked by the chefs at the Teppanyaki dining area... Maybe when there are alot more people here, they might do some demonstrations while cooking the Teppanyaki, just like what we always see in Hollywood movies. That'd be great actually, I would love to try it sometime!

Spending per head: Approximately RM15(午餐)

My friend introduced me to this organic vegetarian restaurant since I'm into some healthy food recently, so I decided to go and try it out. I don't really know how to describe where the restaurant is located, as it is quite complicated. I would suggest that you find google maps using the address.

Seaweed Rice-RM8.90
The seaweed rice looks great on the outside... but again, I'd say the taste is not for everyone. The fried rice is rather odd, unlike any type of fried rice I've tasted. I don't know what type of ingredients they might have used but it definitely does not suite me. The vegetables are also raw which are still ok, but they could have at least cut it into smaller pieces and not make me look like a fool who was trying to put those elongated been sprouts into my mouth.

Vege Fish Beehoon Soup-RM8.90
Yet again, the fish beehoon soup tastes weird. I think they might have used soya milk in the soup which gives it the weird texture and I somehow taste a whiff of vanilla in the soup. This definitely does not go well with Chinese pickles (咸菜) and beehon. I definitely wouldn't recommend ordering this dish unless if you have to.

Steamboat BBQ OK Jul 24, 2012
Categories : Thai | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hotpot | BBQ

I have been waiting to try this out for quite sometime. Their BBQ steamboat pot is almost like Seoul Garden one, but this doesn't come with buffet. It is all ala carte set.

I ordered a supreme pork set which is RM31.90. It came with slices of meat and bacon, prawns, squids, 2 meat balls, fish noodle and vegetables. I love the most is the bacon.

Soft Shell Crab-RM9.90
The soft shell crab is cooked with corn flakes make it crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. However, it taste a bit too sweet on the corn flakes. Overall still not bad.

Fried Lemongrass Chicken Wing-RM7.90
This is one of the must have dish in Thai restaurant and Bar B Q plaza is actually a franchise from Bangkok and it is not surprise that they served this dish. It is like pandan chicken, taste normal. Nothing special from this dish which I did not expect much too as it should be specializing in steamboat and BBQ.
