Best Stewed Duck in PJ-Kam Heong Smile Jan 13, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles | Porridge

Today, I introduced about duck rice. I personally a duck lover and no matter stewed duck or roasted duck I will sure be there for it. Now, I will like to recommend is the famous stewed duck (Lo Ngap) rice in PJ state. I stay near PJ state and always pass by without knowing there is a duck rice shop until my bf recommended me. I think I should explore more in PJ side now. Kam Heong Restaurant is a coffee shop beside OUB bank and just opposite of Menara MPPJ. In the morning, this coffee shop sell the popular Prawn Mee and Claypot Porridge. While in the evening, it is the stewed duck rice that will be taken over the whole coffee shop.

Anyway, if you are first time there, find a seat for you and family. Take a seat, there will have people to come to your table to take order. Even if you prefer to order over the counter, you may do so. So far they have not miss any of my order yet.

Stewed Duck (Lo Ngap)
The duck meat is so tender and juicy with the gravy around, make me call for another bowl of rice. The meat is soft and not like those roasted duck meat which is more harder to eat.

Stewed Pork Leg
Dad and brother like it very much. I wasn't really like to eat big chunk of pork like this one. But it is very nice, the meat is cooked until tender and soft. The potion is ordered according to number of head.

Salty Vegetables
I love this very much. The salty vegetables wasn't salty at all. It is about the same as sour vegetables but it doesn't taste sour at all. It is cooked with the pork oil. A good dish to eat with the duck which stimulate your taste bud before you start your meal.

Stewed Egg

The eggs were cooked in the gravy for a few hours which we can see that the egg become brownish colour. The eggs has totally absorb the gravy which is the main purpose of how stewed eggs created. It is really nice.

Total we (4 pp) have pay around RM 38.00 for the whole dinner without the drinks.

Tong Kee Bread & Tarts Smile Jan 11, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Bakery / Cake / Kuih

I don't really fancy about bread but today I just bump into this bread shop because of the unique shop name- bread & tarts. Mom insists to go in to have a look. The environment is nice, very comfortable when walk inside. The most attractive place is the cakes, so colourful with some light tricks. We bought some bread and tarts of course (the shop name has stated tarts for sure have to try it!). So, I just found out that this shop I have visited is actually quite famous of its tarts after mention by my brother. Whoa.. I slightly missed it if not for mom who draw me back.

After looking at some blogs about this place, I managed my time to pay a visit here. See what is good inside. There always a queue at this place whenever I pass by, so it was when I arrived. I queued for around 30 minutes before I got my seat. I ordered when I was queueing. Santouka is recognised in Japan, USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.

The ambience was nice but it was a bit packed. Not really enjoyable in a place that really packed and noisy. It is a place for you to eat and go, long conversation with friends is a no no for here.

Green Tea (cold)-RM4.00
I always like green tea whenever I'm in any Japanese restaurant. Same as this time. A big bottle of green tea and a glass of ice served when you order the cold type. If you order the hot type, a pot of green tea will be serve. Anyway, the restaurant also served you a complimentary ice water.

Shio Toroniku (small)-RM33.50
The soup base I chosen for Tokusen Toroniku Ramen is Shio (Salt Flavour). The Shio Ramen is mild and creamy soup seasoned with salt. It is the only ramen that is topped off with a Japanese pickled plum. I like it very much and it is not salty at all in case you will scare by the word salt flavour. I personally like Udon more than Ramen but this Ramen is superb. They choose to use the medium size noodle which have a good flavour and blend well with the soup. Must Try!

Shoyu Toroniku (large)-RM40
Shoyu Ramen Soup is made from a mixture of pork broth and soy sauce. Dried seaweed is used as a topping only for Shoyu Ramen to bring out its flavour. However, the taste more to the miso flavour and it is a bit salty.

Best in town-Indian food Smile Jul 24, 2012

Categories : Indian | Restaurant | Vegetarian

Dad brought me to have lunch at Restoran Kanna Curry House after I request for banana leaf rice yesterday. Usually, I like to have banana leaf rice that near my former secondary school-CHS but mom doesn't seem to like it because it is very spicy. So, today let me bring you all to this new place located at Section 17. The place seem crowded when we arrived at lunch time but we got ourselves a place inside the restaurant. The service was fast, banana leaf on the table once we seated, curry sauce serve to table, chicken, sotong, all coming one by one to our table. My eyes were like @.@ seeing all those dishes dashing to our table, my family's actions were fast too, pointing this that...within minute our table was filled with curry chicken, fried chicken, fried calamari, fish and vegetable on each of our banana leave..

Deep Fried Chicken which you cannot miss when you have banana leave rice. Juicy and tender chicken thigh with indian spices. Good for those who can't take spicy food.

This is a must have dish-Deep Fried Calamari when you come here. This is their special dish which you can see almost all of the tables order it. The crunchy calamari served with fried onion and curry leaves, thumbs up! However, the dish is quite pricey too.

Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Burgers / Sandwiches

I know I'm a bit outdated to find myself to try this place for now. Anyway, I'm finally here. Big burgers on the way..Woohooo...Carl's Jr Malaysia outlet actually started in 23rd of July 2007. They have been operate for more than 4 years in Malaysia and I just started to try it out now.sad

I ordered their combo set which came with a burger, fries and free flow drink. If you want a medium size, just add addition RM1.50 and add addition RM3.00 to have large combo.

Free flow drink such as soft drink, cold tea, ice lemon tea and coffee
The photo above is the medium size drink which just add another RM1.50.

You will have to order from the counter but they will give a a number and your cup to fill your drink yourself at the drink counter. The waiters will served you your burger and fries once ready.

Here's our meal! Natural-cut fries taste really great compare to Mcd fries. It taste more natural and do not feel like eating plastic.

Carl's Catch Fish Sandwich-RM13.45
The burger come with two crispy battered fish fillets, tartar sauce, crisp lettuce and tomatoes on a sesame seed bun. I like this very much. The fish fillets really crispy and the potion was big. I can't manage to finish it all by myself.

Bacon Swiss Crispy Chicken Sandwich-RM18.45
This burger come with a crispy chicken fillet with melted cheese, crispy chicken bacon, lettuce, tomatoes and ranch sauce on the seeded bun. When I bite on the burger, first thing I heard was the crispy bite sound, it is the bacon really crispy and nice. I didn't really like the chicken fillet, a bit dry and it taste like chicken breast. overall the taste was great.

I still think the price was a bit pricey for burger although the potion was quite big.

Recommended Dish(es):  Natural-cut fries
