“El Mondo” means El World of food. El Mondo established its 1st outlet at Krystal Point since September 2007 and now they have 2 more outlets in Penang which locate at E Gate and Tanjung Bungah. I went to EGate outlet and the environment looks great.

Mushroom Soup-RM12.90
I love the soup, it taste very special. It don't taste like the normal mushroom I always get. Homemade mushroom soup from them I guess. Besides, when you order the soup, it came with 2 pieces of garlic bread. It is perfect to have the bread with the soup. Really nice! Must try!

Spaghetti Aragosta- RM 25.90
The spaghetti came with prawn and chicken meat. The spaghetti was cooked just nice not so soggy or too hard. Overall was good but It is a bit spicy .

CNY Reunion @ Goh Teo Kee OK Jun 12, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood

We ordered the 8 course dinner which cost RM698+ for 10 pax excluding drinks. Total we pay RM768 for whole dinner, kind of expensive for Penang price.

Dried Scallop Seafood Shark Fin Soup
This dish should be served third but the waitress messed up with all table's dishes. Luckily, dad did bring the leaflet they gave that day and we checked out they miss out our shark fin soup. Normal shark fin soup, nothing to shout about. I did bite a lot of shark fin, real or not, I'm not sure.

Stewed Pork Ribs with Chetnut and Soya Skin
This dish was not bad actually. I did not see any pork rib inside but small pieces of pork meat. The meat was soft and easy to chew especially for my grandmother. It taste quite nice too but not warm when served.

Luxury Four Season
(King Prawn, Soft Shell Crab, Japanese Octopus, Assorted Nut)
I like this dish a lot especially the Japanese Octopus (my favourite). Soft shell crab was one of their speciality dish in the restaurant that we always order during normal days.

Celebration:  團年飯

Western Food @ Kaffa Cafe Smile Jun 12, 2012

Kaffa Cafe at China Street is the one I am going to introduce to you. They have another outlet in Strait Quay. Anyway, Kaffa cafe @ China Street is exactly at the T Junction facing the famous Goddess of Mercy Temple (Kuan Yin Teng) in Penang.

Mushroom Chicken-RM13.90
It comes with Mushroom Sauce, French fries and Mix Lettuce. The Mushroom Sauce was thick with lots of small slices of mushroom pour over the whole grilled chicken thigh. The grilled chicken was juicy inside and totally well cooked. The mushroom sauce was simply splendid! Must Try!

Chicken Marinara-RM13.90
The Chicken Marinara comes with Mozzarella Cheese, French Fries and Mix Lettuce. This chicken chop looks special to me. Red tomato paste on top of chicken chop. Normally what I see is those Chicken Maryland type but this taste great too. Everyone loved it, it seem you never know if you never try. The chicken was well cooked and the meat was tender and juicy. Great job chef! Must try!

For those who aren't familiar with Kelana Jaya, you surely wouldn't know this vegetarian restaurant that actually serves great food at a decent price. It is suitable for family style dining or just a casual meal with your friends.

Nasi Kandar - RM6

They serve a great variety of foods including indian and chinese dishes. Here is the Nasi Kandar that costs only RM6 yet is full of ingredients. It tastes great, very spicy, uses vegetarian meat as substitute for mutton. Highly recommended dish.

Sweet & Sour Vegetarian Spare Ribs Rice - RM6

This dish also tastes great, in chinese we know it as the 排骨王饭 or Marmite spare ribs rice. The portion is just enough for one person, and its not spicy, yet not too sweet. A good one to try out.

Great Italian Restaurant Smile Jun 04, 2012

Categories : Italian | Café | Pizza/Pasta

We came here for the first time for a birthday celebration, and boy were in for a surprise. Our normal perception of Italian food is: tiny portions & lots of pasta... But the Italiannies at the Curve served really big portions, I have to thank the waiter for advising us about the portions and recommending some dishes according to our taste.

The first thing you'd notice in Italiannies here is that the waiters are trained really well. They speak in a very professional manner and takes care of your needs (such as giving you napkins) without you even asking.

Toasted Bruschetta - RM17.90

An appetizer. I absolutely love this, i love the tuscan garlic bread, and you dip it with the cheese & potatoes together it tastes heavenly. Highly recommended, but the portion is quite big as a starter, which I think is enough for 2-3 persons. I'm not complaining about that! lol

Chicken Parmegiana - Approx. RM20-30

This is our main dish of fried chicken topped with Parmesan cheese on top of spaghetti. Absolutely delicious. But I wonder why I can't find this item in their current menu and I have forgotten the prices. Nevertheless, kudos to our waiter, he suggested that the portion is enough for the two of us and he was right. We were totally full and were barely able to finish it all.

Overall, it is a great place to have a great dinner. I'll definitely be back for more in the future.
