I have heard many a good things about Serai, and it is high time to pay them a visit. So wifey and I braved the Friday evening jam at LDP to get to Paradigm Mall. I ordered the Serai platter, and it was their signature dish. When the dish came, it was a huge portion! There was fluffy rice, very well done. A portion of oxtail assam pedas, spicy and delicious. The meat was tender and juicy. Some honey squid was also part of the set. I thought the squid was a bit too chewy. The sweetness of honey was very apparent, quite a unique flavour. The acar was fresh, quite eye-squintingly sour, but it gives a good tangy flavour to the entire dish. The highlight of my Serai Platter is most definitely the huge piece of ayam goreng berempah. The chicken was fried till golden brown, skin crispy while the meat is tender and juicy. Priced at RM25, it was definitely well worth the amount paid.
