Tang Hun Claypot Crab, one of my favorite. Tang Hun absorb the sweetness of crab and source use to cook make the Tang Hun rich of flavor. Simply awesome.
Overall, KhunTai is well recommended for its original Thai Cuisine.

At first we came all the way to Raja Uda to eat the famous Koay Teow Ting at 7 Village Noodle but the shop was closed by 5pm so we ended up at Khuntai which has a very village feel. We ordered the spicy red seafood tom yam soup. The tom yam was very worth it as although it cost RM 23, the portion was very big and there was a lot of octopus inside.

I should not have ordered Steamed Octopus (RM14) I had known there was so much octopus inside the tom yam soup. But the steamed octopus sauce was incredible and sour.

Since we wanted to keep some space for supper later, we ordered the Prawn Claypot Glass Noodle (RM18) which was just ok. The noodles was cooked in quite dark sauce.

The Thai coconut was also very sweet. I ordered the warm chrysanthemum which luckily was not that sweet.

There were also an auto and also some decorations on display so patrons can take pictures.

我知道Khunthai Restaurant 最出名的是这里的tomyam..但是,我今天向介绍的呢,却是一道在别人眼中应该不起眼的菜肴,那就是臭豆!这里的臭豆相比外面的臭豆来的刺激,来的好吃。。原因是这里的臭豆非常的辣!很适合爱吃辣的朋友。。而且分量蛮多,就连虾也蛮多只的。。

Seafood tom yam soup and stir-fry lala

Thai food is one of my favourite Asian cuisine. The seafood tom yum soup served in this restaurant is one of the best that I have tasted so far. It has a right combination of sourness and spiciness. The seafood used is fresh and cooked perfectly. The stir fry lala is packed with flavour. It is stir-fried with a Thai sambal sauce which enhances the flavour of lala.

The Pandan Chickens were served with sweet and sour Thai Sauce, good but unfortunately they served it last when we were already so full from all the previous dishes. There were leftovers, and yours truly picked all the remaining chicken. Deep fried to a crisp, with the chicken marinated in spices beforehand, you can never go wrong with this dish, a must order dish at Khunthai Restaurant. The signature dishs for Khunthai Restaurant were actually their crab dishes, but we did not order any this round due to unforseen circumstances. We settled for their recommendation of the Stir Fried Kam Heong Lala instead. No regrets here, as I loved the spices in this dish. Stir fried to perfection, these clam shelled Lala were really good stuff. Any Lala dishes had to be fresh, or risk tasting the stale fishy smell which I hate. Any Lala dishes had to be fresh, or risk tasting the stale fishy smell which I hate. It was all good here though, and at RM19.80, we could enjoy all the lalas we could take in.

We just had to try their seafood, and steamed fish was the way to go in any seafood restaurant. we were certain the fishes served here were going to be fresh. However I was slightly disappointed with the high price of their Lemon Steamed Kerapu Fish. The taste was good though, without any fishy taste, and nice sour tomyam'ish soup. Similar to most nutty Thai dishes, we had an overdose of my favourite cashew nuts here. Probably the restaurant had an abundance of Thai Cashew Nuts. The Spicy Chicken with Cashew Nuts was spicy with chilli marinated chicken stir fried to perfection. Personally I love my cashew nuts, so no complains on the cashew nuts overload here. The price for this dish was only RM10, a steal if you ask me. I found this dish sweet, yet really tasty and aromatic.

Throw in the cashew nuts, loads of it! That's what we say for the dish, the Mango Kerabu. there were more nuts than the chicken itself in the dish. The Mango Kerabu was perfect, with enough cili padi, some sweet mango and sour enough to tantalize our taste buds. Be careful not to accidentally bite into the cili padis though, or risk your tongue burning from the spiciness.

We ordered the large portion for the Mixed Seafood Tom Yam, which came to fit 9 of us perfectly. I could not argue with the ingredients served as there were ample prawns thrown in, however the soup itself was not as good as some which I had at other Thai restaurants. It was a tad too spicy, and too sweet, but that did not stop us from finishing all of it. On top of the prawns, we had the usual mushrooms, vegetables and cuttlefish. Priced at RM34, it was suitable for a group of at least 4 diners.

I've always loved how these restaurants prepared their Egg Omelettes, with onions to really bring out the flavour. A simple dish nevertheless, but still rather lovely. The fried egg omelettes here were cooked with prawns, and onions, fresh prawns which doesn't have the fishy taste. Lots of onions were added in which really smelt good on top of being tasty. Priced at RM8, I guess it's reasonably priced.

One of my favourite vegetable dish would be the kailan. And here, we had the Kailan stir fried with garlic and salted fish, bringing out lots of flavour. The smell itself whetted my appetite for more. It was good that the restaurant did not overcook the vegetables, coupled with enough saltiness from the fish, I loved this dish. For RM 10, again this was not an expensive dish, one which I wouldn't mind ordering again the next time I'm here.
