I intend to do some shopping at Mid Valley, in order to avoid the human and traffic jam. I have reached at 10.30am, to my surprise they are quite many shoppers around. Without any hesitation, I walked toward Duck King. Since it is early, only 4 tables are occupied.

Upon seating, we were served a bowl of hot soup. It was Peanut Lotus soup, best to keep my stomach warm. The soup was tasted light and clear. Without need to wait longer, my Two Combination Roasted Meat Noodles was served. I have opted Roasted Char Siew and Roasted Duck to pair with the noodle. The Roasted Char Siew was tendered, sweet and melts in my mouth. As for the Roasted Duck, the meat was soft yet well marinated, especially the skin was crispy. Noodles were very springy and the sauce is tasty too.

Besides that, I have ordered Prawn Dumpling with Chili Sauce as my appetizer. Its came with 5 pieces of Prawn Dumpling immerse into the hot and spicy sauce. The dumpling was pretty huge with mince meat and prawn filling. Overall taste is good.

When we about to finish our meal, the waiter served each of us a dessert- Herbal Jelly. It seems this is the complimentary for every main course order.

To wrap up, the overall foods are good. I definitely will come back again.

As a starter, they normally serve a complimentary soup of the day for each of the diner in a small bowl, similar to those miso soup sizes where you can find in Japanese Restaurant. As usual, we ordered half a roast duck, Chinese spinach in superior broth, taufoo and what they claimed as their new chef recommendation, braised pork.

The roast duck was okay, but the skin wasn’t as crispy as before. Both the spinach and taufoo was all right as well, but nothing too great to shout about. As for the braised pork, we think that it does not fit to be in the “recommended menu”. It was nothing special, the meat were not juicy it was rather dry. Tasted mediocre, we wouldn’t recommend this to any other diners.
At the end of the meal, they served another complimentary dessert, herbal jelly or better known as “guilingao”. To their defense though, the waiters were quite attentive. Nevertheless, still an ideal place for a typical Chinese meal.
