Restoran Nasi Kandar Shaaz is located at Sunway Metro, just opposite of Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall. Today, just dropped by here to have my breakfast before going to work. I have ordered their ready cooked Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice). It serves with a piece of cucumber and sambal. From the picture, you can see is just a plain fried rice with some vegetable in it. It is spicy and taste just normal, not recommend to have this as it not worth the money. continue reading

Some friends came over from Singapore and craved for local mamak food. We choose to dine in Restoran Nasi Kandar Shaaz at Sunway. This shop is located opposite Sunway Pyramids. The staffs here are friendly and efficient, unlike some very famous nasi kandar shops that hired arrogant staffs with bad attitudes. Service still counts in complementing good food.Roti tissue is a must order. It is made into a mountain shape and the dough is made into crispy thin, just like tissue. Although tissue is soft, roti tissue must be crispy! Roti tissue is slightly sweetened with condensed milk and white sugar, and the usual curry, sambal, and dhall that served with all types of roti. The roti tissue was indeed very addictive. However, be sure that your fingers feel sticky after eating it. Next is the roti telur. Roti telur is the same dough that make the roti, with added egg into it. Seriously, any food with egg taste better. Same goes to roti telur. The dough texture is light and fluffy, and with the egg in it, you can smell the nice eggy aroma. Also best eaten with the mixture of curry, sambal, and dhall. Garlic and chilli naan. As you can see, the naan is full of garlic and chilli flakes. The naan is really hot and spicy. The garlic and chilli naan is also thicker than a normal roti. It is meant to be eaten as a staple carbohydrate to replace rice. Therefore, thicker and more filling. Serve with the naan are mint sauce, curry, and dhall.Another dish that we ordered was Chicken Tandoori. Chicken Tandoori was served with some raw onions, lime and cucumber. None of us ate the raw onions though. The Chicken Tandoori was quite a big portion. At least 7 or 8 pieces of chicken breasts. Quite good, as it wasn't dry and well marinated. We ate the Chicken Tandoori with the garlic and chilli naan. I think i saw the traditional clay oven that prepares the chicken tandoori. Mee goreng is a simple fried noodle dish. Although simple, but it doesn't lack flavours and seasoning. The noodle used is the yellow noodle. Some bits of veggies and chicken pieces were added into the mee goreng. The mee goreng is slightly spicy and quite satisfying. continue reading
