This restaurant serves nice Nyonya food.Located inside 1 utama shopping mall, the decoration of this restaurant is nice and comfortable. There are "outdoor" and "indoor" sections available, both with air-conditioner equiped.Their staff provide good and efficient service. The nyonya food here is really yummy, they look, smell and taste good. Here is the hot tea. This is the Curry Laksa Noodle. The curry soup is very tasty, a little spicy, and fully enriched with curry and santan. It smells very good too. This is the Nasi Lemak. The rice is in green color, and tastes good. The fried chicken is big, crunchy and yummy too.Overall, their Nasi Lemak is very nice and worth trying. Moreover, I think the price of their food is reasonable and acceptable. continue reading

Was in 1-Utama and thinking to have something different and we ended up in Peranakan Place which served delicious Nyonya Cuisine. The place is located at the 2nd floor of 1-Utama Old Wing. This shop is serving mostly dishes more on Thai Style and Nyonya Style. Peranakan dishes are mainly from Malacca as it is a combination of Malay and Chinese dishes according to history.Em, ... services is kinda slow.. we waited till other stomach sounding... haiz.. and we did tell ourself if it will not be served in another 10 minutes, we will cancel the order.. so u can imagine how long we waited even though there is only a few customers. Basically we waited for about 30 - 40 minutes for the dish to be served. At last... the meals arrived on the table. Dear ordered the pineapple fried rice.. the pineapple fried rice is a bit oily but is nice. They served with a piece of fried chicken as well as crackers. The crackers is nice.. and is not the soft one. and is very nice to munch and once you take the first munch.. you have a feeling of order more to munch .. Yummy. .. As for the fried chicken is nice..and you can taste the nice belacan smell... hmmmm... is truely very yummy and temptating. The chicken is fresh as well as it is being fried well till golden brown and served hot.. wah.. thats delicious continue reading

Peranakan Place is a place where you may find the dining of nyonya style or to say the Malaccan dish. Peranakan Place is located on the 1st Floor of 1-Utama which is just opposite My News Café. The environment here is a bit cozy and the environment is alike dining in a Malaccan house. There is a various of Malaccan delights which you may find hereKerabu Chicken Feet which is one of the famous dish among Chinese. The kerabu is actually made up of mango, bawang and some lime. It is served raw. As for chicken feat, they will cooked the chicken feat and remove the skin. Once is being cleaned, it will be added together with the kerabu and mix together and here they served the kerabu Chicken Feat. Sick of eating Western cuisine or Asian food Then you should try Nyonya cuisine!Peranakan place is located on the link bridge connecting the Old wing and New wing of One Utama and it's easy to be spotted with its decorations. Been here a few times and I must say I'm not bored of the dishes served here yet.First up is the claypot tofu. Well, it's not served in claypot for sure. However, it is cooked with the similar ingredients as of those commonly found in hawker stalls. Japanese tofu of course, mushroom, carrots, chicken, green peppers. Due to the lack of claypot, this dish seems to be lacking of "wok hei".Next is kangkung belacan. It is slightly spicy but I think it's suitable for those who can't eat spicy food. Plenty of fried shrimps found in this dish, but the saltiness blends well with the spiciness, definitely very appetizing!Last is honey chicken! I love this particular dish so much that i always order the same dish in each of my visit. Fried chicken sprinkled with sesame, in honey sauce; crunchy and sweet at the same time. continue reading
