Every time I come here, mee udang is one of the must-haves besides the Chicken Pot Pie. But the bad news is that since today is the third day of CNY 2014, the Chicken Pot Pie stall was not open so I was forced to order other food. The Mee Udang Teluk Kumbar was not bad and we both finished every drop of it. There was a mix of spiciness and soury taste. Very tasty. I guess this cost about RM 6 more or less. We also ordered the BBQ Chicken sticks with BBQ Sauce, Mango Sauce and Hot and Spicy sauce. I felt there was no distinction between the sauces though and the sauce was too sweet and the meet too hard. Those 9 sticks cost almost RM 12. The Cuttlefish Kangkung was amazing. The sauce was very thick and tasty. There was also some jellyfish included. Today there were a group of singers singing old CNY songs and also some Malay songs making the atmosphere more lively. The best part here is eating and enjoying the scenery of the sea in front, especially since we had a strategic spot in front of the sea and had the breeze gently blowing my hair away. continue reading

German sausage with mashed potatoNortham Beach Cafe offers a variety of foods, including Malaysian, Western and German cuisines. It is located by the sea and it is clean and tidy. This german sausage served with mashed potato is of average. It is not as good as the other german sausage that can be found in Penang. However, the portion is quite big and the price is reasonable. continue reading

Apparently I was informed that Iced Chinese Tea is not very popular among Penangnites as a cold drink, but instead the Iced Herbal Tea is way more popular. The Chinese Herbal Tea in Northam Beach is no exception as well. The Chinese Herbal Tea here is a little sweet, but the good thing is that it has a strong herbal tea aroma. It is not diluted at all, making it quite strong. It also comes with some longan among other herbs which I am not familiar in name. For RM1.80, it is a little expensive but given the nice scenary of the sea, I guess it is justifiable. continue reading
