Salute Dining& Wine, strategically locating in front of Asia Café ss15, the restaurant tends to get busier in the afternoon when students from the nearby Inti and Taylor's college drop by to have lunch. Judging from the name of the restaurant, it gives a false impression that it somewhat looked rather expensive. After we actually visited a few times here, this Italian restaurant is actually more budget-like than ever. To be honest, its considered as one of the most chilling restaurant served foods with reasonable place in a student area like SS15.Just like any other restaurant, Salute wine&dining offers lunch promotion, comes with choices of various spaghetti aglio olio seafood, beef bacon in spicy, linguine pesto with broccoli& potato etc. Every lunch promotion started at RM12.50 comes with free coke/ lemon tea.The portion is really big, the food is so so, but judging from the price I will still say go for it.The restaurant is quite spacious, it is suitable for larger groups of people like students or family gathering! Recommended for an economic yet romantic night out. continue reading

So today my boyfriend and I was rounding around SS15, Subang Jaya and we passed by Salute Dining & Wine. It looked so sophisticated and very eye catching that we decided to try it out. They were having a pasta promotion, one pasta w/ drink for RM12 which was affordable and to be honest, a little odd. Considering there wasn't must customers in there, I guess they weren't really good as their exterior looked. Nevertheless, we went in and took our seat. The interior was actually quite nice, lovely oldies playing in the background, the table was set with a small candle in a cup with salt and pepper shakers. Which makes it all seem so romantic in a way. The waiter was a nice Chinese man with glasses wearing red button down shirt while the rest of the staffs wore green. I'm guessing he must be the owner or manager. My boyfriend and I looked at the menu and the price was okaaaaaay. The drink I bought was like RM5.90 for lemon soda which was actually quite okay comparing to other places. We scrolled through and I picked the Chef's Salad which was RM13 ? I forgot haha. But yeah and my boyfriend ordered the Beef Carbonara Aglio Et Olio promotion set with Coke. 10 minutes later, his pasta arrived. The pungent smell of garlic was so intense that suddenly, we don't feel like trying it anymore. My boyfriend mixed it and tried a bit, it was so...PLAIN. It mostly taste of garlic and oil so he took the pepper and shake so much that I thought maybe he'd just smash it into his pasta, but he didn't haha. He took another bite and it still tasted plain. He was annoyed. About 20 minutes after his pasta came, my salad which normally wouldn't take long, hasn't arrived so we called the waiter. He apologized and said "forgot to key in the salad, would it be okay if you waited for another 5 minutes ? I promise it'll be done by then" I have already waited for 20-30 minutes oR so, I would be wasting my time not having my food and I agreed. It finally came and it looked decent. It looked really cute stacked up and such however, it was DRENCHED, not drizzled but drenched with balsamic vinegar. I like it but the it really tasted plain. My boyfriend thinks it was over dressed with vinegar so he stayed away. There was garlic bread at the side, it was actually okay with the crunchy bread but I can't take anymore garlic. In the end, the interior and exterior is nice. A quite place for a nice date however the food can be better. Haven't tried anything else, maybe would bring another friends here since my boyfriend was dead serious about not coming back. The plain pungent taste of that pasta really got him. :/ continue reading

when me and the bf were cruising around SS15 after class and pondering on what to eat, we came across this restaurant which was newly opened. despite the fact that the shop is brand new, there weren't a single customer inside so i honestly doubted the food there but the bf insisted on trying anyway lolthe restaurant is quite spacious, and has a few tables that could accomodate larger groups of people (probably for the students studying nearby). Salute is also having opening promotions for their set menus that are low as RM15-20, to cater for budget-saving students. i decided to order Chicken Cordon Bleu with penne pasta, because i was getting sick of eating normal spaghetti so i thought i should opt for something different. it came out okay, still bearable although the pasta might have been a little too dry, while the chicken cordon bleu tasted.. very cheap. which is understandable, considering its cheap price anyway. the crust of the chicken meat is too soft and not crunchy enough, and i could not taste so much of the cheese wrapping around the chicken meat. Salute is still very affordable to visit, but they have plenty of rooms to improve further on. continue reading

Fries was horribly oily externally and dry internally. Kinda felt overcooked real bad. Some of the fries was also quite soggy and....soulless. Nevertheless, the sauce was not bad, although I believe that they could improve it. But before improving the sauce, please do increase the quality of the fries. It was disastrous. For RM5, even Mcdonald's fries tastes better. continue reading
