This is the worst char siu won ton mi I have ever tasted. I love char siu won ton mi. I crave for it. I would drive far to taste it.This morning I ordered a take away. I ordered a large portion (RM7) and asked if I could have extra char siu. The lady told me NO and that I have to order an ala carte of small portion char siu for RM22. Normal shop would offer extra char for a nominal charge. Even the Meng Kee Chicken rice shop opposite this shop offered extra char siu for a mere RM2. That led to the next major disappointment, the portion of char siu given in the large portion of the char siu won ton mi I ordered...When I open the take away packing, I found that there was only 4 mini sized char siu plus one normal sized char siu. The mini sized char siu was less 8mm x 2mm, there was really nothing to chew. Furthermore the char siu was not fresh, tasted like leftover from yesterday. Normal sized was what normally u would get in a plate of char siu won ton mi or rice. I might as well eat vegetarian won ton mi. I would have bought from the actual Meng Kee Chicken rice shop (opposite) if it wasn't crowded at that time. I thought the quality will be consistent since they were both Meng Kee...I wonder if this Meng Kee Ramen is owned by the same owner or just someone copying the Meng Kee name.  In my opinion this shop will not last long if they don't improve. I can bet my last dollar on it! continue reading

Wifey ordered the barley drink. Personally I am not a fan of barley drink when I go out, as I tend to find the barley that were served are quite diluted, akin to drinking water. Anyhow, wifey's barley drink came, and it was surprisingly good. It had quite a bit of ice as well. There were also some barley seeds in the drink, which was nice to chew on while waiting for the food to come. Slightly sweet, but still acceptable. Priced at RM2, it was a decent price to pay. continue reading
