continue reading

Egg tarts are great for tea time but I usually take them for lunch and this place is one of my favourite places to get them. The picture above is the NZ cheese egg tart and I would assume NZ stands for New Zealand though I may be wrong on that. The cheese flavor was not as strong as I expected but the aroma of the cheese is there. I was expecting the core to be gooey or sticky with molten cheese but it was kinda flaky and dry instead. continue reading

When John King Egg Tarts originated from Hong Kong landed in Malaysia years ago, many people is seen queueing up at their outlet and take away dozen and dozen of egg tart. They sell not only original flavour egg tarts, but also others flavours such as the most famous durian egg tart, green tea egg tart, egg white cookies and corn tart, to name a few.Bite into the green tea egg tart that is still pipping hot, yummy expression immediately shown on my face. The pastry is flaky, the filling is smooth and silky without overwhelmed green tea taste. continue reading

John King Egg Tart is claimed to be originated from Hong Kong, and there are not many branches yet in Malaysia. This kiosk is located at the centre of the shopping mall, very much crowd passing by everyday and their egg tarts are selling like hot cakes. They are famous for the durian tarts along with other delectable flavours are coffee, chocolate, sesame and more. The durian is not too strong, and slightly sweet and creamy. The crust is really thin and crispy with a very nice aroma like baked cookies. Then the filling inside is smooth and flavourful but not cloying at all. I love this as some snacks during tea time. continue reading

If you ever try the egg tart at Hong Kong, you will know how fantastic an egg tart can be.And this John King is originally from Hong Kong, over 20 outlets in Hong Kong. Here are the 4 tarts from John King. They try to serve some revolutionary flavor egg tarts like red beans, corn and egg white. But it was a total failure. All their egg tart lack of the crispness and fluffiness. The custard filling is lack of the taste of egg. The size of the egg tart is also smaller if compare to the egg tart out there. continue reading
