A classic margherita pizza, around 10 inches wide. A very simple dish but packed with tomato and meaty goodness. This particular piece of pizza wasn't very good but it wasn't that bad either. The crust was pretty crispy and thin, the sauce was pretty decent, the cheese was somewhat creamy, although I felt that it was a little weird. Aesthetically it looked horrible, but the flavours were pretty decent. Not to mention it is cheap, so I guess its pretty worthwhile.

a dish my friend ordered, the mashed potato salad. we wanted to feel aibit healthy by ordering this LOL. the potato were mashed quite nicely and i think it did fit the 'mashed' idea so no complaints about that. unlike classic mashed potatos that were served warm, this one was served ice cold as benefitting to the salad name. it is also served with lettuce underneath it, to be eaten together. it is seasoned with a little bit pepper and salt too.

Among the many food outlets here in Taylor's, this is probably one of our most visited places due to the food, ambiance and service. This is the dish my friends often order, the Spicy Fried Spaghetti. It is one of the signature dishes here at Backofen. The portion is alright and it is priced at RM 11 a plate. As the name suggests, this is spicy! In fact, it was too spicy for me but I can't take spicy food though.

This cake must be pretty popular for birthdays as I see one below haha.. The display of pastries here is quite enticing and the prices are reasonable.This cake has a thick slab of solid chocolate in it! It's not the artificial and overly sweet type of chocolate. Cake is not spongy but more towards dense. It's not dry at all and is full of chocolate taste. The square on top is also chocolate.

A bowl of warm soup makes a great appetite opener. Among the choices of soup available at Backofen, one of them is mushroom soup. It is a moderate portion, not too small or too much. I usually have this together with a small-medium main course. It's quite condensed with yummy mushroom taste unlike certain places that serve watered down mushroom soup. Normal price is RM 5 but if it's the soup of the day, it's RM 4.50.

I've liked this place ever since I first saw it. The design of the place is just nice, with tables, booth seats and seating outside if you're smoking. It can get pretty packed at lunch time so some opt to make reservations for big groups. Service is usually good unless they're really packed and busy. They are pretty generous with the potatoes which are topped with some kind of seasoning that makes it taste amazing. It's almost like potato chips except it's not chips. Being a university student, I love meals which don't empty my wallet.This right here is what I call a budget lunch (relatively cheap compared to the other food). It's only RM 5 for a plate and the taste isn't bad either. The potatoes are cooked until they're soft enough then mixed in the sauce. It's not sickening nor too heavy despite the creamy outlook.
