It was my cousin’s birthday and so we decided to treat her for desserts! Since Main Place was just a footsteps away from her house, we decided to drop by her house and pick her up before heading to Main Place for desserts. We were contemplating on where we should have desserts and ended up we agreed to have desserts at Black Market. It was my first time there and the ambience of the restaurant was really fancy and nice, it gave me the first impression that the food there will cost a lot. Since we were only opting for desserts, I was hoping that the desserts would not cost as much as their mains before making the decision to dine in there. We ordered a red velvet cake since it was my cousin’s birthday. Besides that, we had chocolate lava cake and porky pancakes as well. The red velvet cake was slightly too sweet for my liking. As for the chocolate lava cake, I really love the rich and creamy texture of the chocolate sauce oozing out from the fluffy chocolate cake. The vanilla ice cream really complemented the chocolate cake as well, elevating the whole dish to a new level. It was quite pricey though, RM 20 for a small piece of chocolate cake with ice cream but it tasted really good.As for the porky pancakes, it was served with one sausage and one slice of bacon. I personally don’t think that it was worth the money considering such a small portion. If only they had more than one bacon and sausage on the plate I would have rated this dish higher. continue reading

So! It was our company Christmas dinner and out of all choices, we chose black market in USJ because it looked classy and affordable from online. They have 3 branches – The Main Place USJ,Kampung Pandan or St. mary place ,all with different operating hours .We was not disappointed with our chritmas dinner , meanwhile not very satisfied with it. We order two complete set of dinner meal (RM98.00++ ) which comes with a soup, salad, entrée, main course ,dessert and a cup of drink serve. It was not surprisingly good or delicious, but the dessert ( piece of cake per set) was a good close up for the set.Besides the dinner set, we also ordered ala carte dishes.Pork rib for RM48.00,Black Scallop Pasta for RM38.00,Seafood Petai Sambal Freid Rice for RM32.00 and the Black Jamon Pizza for Rm33.00.Which all the ala cartes dishes tatse better than the set one. The best one would be the pasta and fried rice.Black Scallop Pasta is squid ink spaghetti tossed in spicy balsamic sauce with fiery, tangy sensation, served with fan scallop. I love the sourness and spiciness of the pasta but it may not be suitable for everyone. The Seafood Petai Sambal Freid Rice was a real good thing. We wanted to ordered another dish of it but unfortunately it is not available that night anymore. continue reading
