continue reading

Bak Kut Teh (Pork Belly). Since every table also has a pot of bak kut teh, how could we not try it. We wanted to order the soft bones but it was finished. Ended up we settle with "Wu Hua" meat means the pork belly. The pork belly was half fats and half lean, I had to remove the fats part and just eat lean part. The soup was not bland, it was filled with herbs taste but it was not concentrated. A better than average pot of bak kut teh. continue reading

continue reading

This is one of the not too bad dish but I did not find myself liking it. Personally because I have had better one which was home made. Notably, the tenderness of the pork loaf was done quite perfectly. The only thing was the muy choy was not as flavorful as I expected it to be, though it was cooked to super soft. The missing part was the intensity of flavor and perhaps more chunkiness from muy choy. continue reading

The yam pork at Meat In Claypot is really beyond awesome. The yam is super tender and has absorbed all the gravy flavour, which tastes heavily of fermented soy paste - it's something you really love or you cannot stand. I love it - I think it tastes like wine. The pork itself is also amazingly melty and tender. It melts in your mouth, but will solidify again around your waist.Just this dish with onion rice is complete satisfaction. Yam? Check. Tastes like wine? Check. Melty pork? Check. What's not to like? continue reading
