Pun Chun Noodle House is located at Ara Damansara. It is a restaurant that offers different types of noodles. The examples of foods served there are Duck Drumstick Dry Noodles, Char Siew Wantan Noodles, Wantan, Mushroom Chicken Feet Noodles and so on. I had tried Prawn Wan Tan served by Pun Chun Noodle House. The prawn is very fresh and delicious. The price is also very affordable. Highly recommended to have a try. continue reading

Wifey is a super fan so Pun Chun Noodle House's fried wan tan. I favour it too, although I am usually not a person who go for deep-fried stuff. If you tell the waiter you want fried wan tan, he will normally bring you a plate of 15 pieces. So if you are dining for two, or if you think you cannot finish 15 pieces, you can ask for a serving of 10 pieces, although it is not stated in the menu. Each wan tan is filled with a lot of filling consisting of minced pork and coarsely chopped prawns. Sometimes the saltiness is not very consistent, but that's OK with me. If too salty, then eat with the noodle. If not salty enough, then add soya sauce. The wan tan skin is superbly crisp, every mouthful a crunchy goodness. Priced at RM10 for 10 pieces, they're not cheap, but well worth the amount paid. continue reading

continue reading

The fried wan tan in Pun Chun is one of the best fried wan tan I have ever had. Succulent pieces of prawn mixed with mince pork wrapped in wan tan skin, fried to perfection. A close second compared to my mum’s fried wan tan. Served with slivers of cucumber, it is the perfect accompaniment to the dry noodles. They also provide some tomato sauce and some blended garlic-ish, green chilli sauce, but I prefer them without any sauce. It is always freshly made, making it very crunchy. Priced at RM10 for 10 pieces, it is not cheap, but well worth the money as they do not skimp on the filling. continue reading

Pun chun has been a household name since my mom's generation for producing savoury, fragrant duck noodles. Now, we do not have to venture to Bidor to savour this delicious and rather rare dish anymore as it has open branches in KL already. The first time when I knew that it was open in Kota Kemuning, we went over during the weekend, brace the waiting list and was very happy with our meal. However it seems like the Ara Damansara branch is not as good as the Kota Kemuning branch. It comes with a steel bowl(to preserve the temperature) of herbal soup with duck and another plate/bowl, which consist of the noodles. Nevertheless, it still taste quite ok. There's enough gravy to make it moist and flavourful. The herbal soup is more of the star of the dish as it has very strong herbs aroma and according to the shop, has been boiled for hours before serving. The essence of the herbs and duck makes the soup tasty and enjoyable. I also find that the price has increased to RM8.50 for a big bowl. I can assure you that the portion is of normal size if compared to other noodle shops. The duck meat is also quite little... I wouldn't visit it often but will come back if I feel like having some nostalgic herbal soup duck noodles. continue reading
