I ordered the Salmon Avocado or what they call Dragon Roll sushi for less than RM 20. The sushi was a bit too soggy for my liking. I think they have used too much vinegar or mayonaise.
The Maguro sushi also had too much mayonaise and worse, thousand island on top.
We both do not like fusion sushi with a lot of mayonaise which spoils the original taste of sushi.
My friend ordered his favourite, unagi eel with rice. It taste like normal unagi. It reminds me of my dad who also always order unagi every time we eat Japanese.
We are definitely not coming back for the sushi due to the sogginess. The worst is the price is too expensive as the entire meal cost RM 81.

Fish roe Sushi and lobster corn sushi. Apart from the main dish, we order two types of sushi - Fish roe Sushi and lobster corn sushi. The fish roe sushi was covered with plenty of fish roes and it was "crunchy". The lobster meat corn sushi was very good too, the corn gave the sushi a sweet taste while the lobster meat gave it a fresh taste. The sushi were nicely wrapped.

Chicken Teriyaki and Sashimi Bento Set. This bento set came with salad, rice, pickles, salmon sashimi and teriyaki chicken. The teriyaki chicken was sprinkled with sesame to add further aroma to it. It was soft and the teriyaki coating was sweet. The salmon sashimi were not cut too thinly which was good, it was succulent and fresh. I like the salad with Japanese salad dressings.

I like to eat Japanese dumpling. For me because they prepare it in a way that brings up my appetite. They pan fried the dumpling or they call it gyoza here until the skin turns into slightly golden brown colour. The pork meat inside has the porky smell with the porky taste. The dumpling skin is a bit crispy outside. Then when you eat till the end, the dumpling taste turn towards a bit sweet.

Salmon belly is one of the food that I love and hate very much. I love it is because how delicious are they. I hate it is because the price is really freaking expensive. The salmon belly unlike the salmon meat, it is a bit oily. Then normally I eat it without any sauce first, eat the original taste. Then followed by shoyu to have the salty taste, then only shoyu with wasabi. Three pieces with three different taste. The egg roe is really very salty. This is the only dish on plate that I don't rea

The tuna fish was fresh. The tuna was wrapped with some seaweed and vegetables dipped onto some special flour and deeply fried until they were golden brown. This is really a very crispy and crunchy dish. I would like to dip them in the mayonnaise sauce too.

Unagi is my favourite dish of Japanese cuisines, however it was really costly. This unagi was fresh and it tasted sweet along with the sauce coated on the unagi. The flesh was smooth and soft. I ordered a plain rice to eat along with this too. This is a very satisfying dish!!!

Unlike usual cawanmushi, for Sushi Tei, they add on some orange ball like fish eggs on the top of the steamed egg at the bottom. They were not raw. The steamed eggs were pretty soft and smooth. The fish eggs were chewy and bouncy. Many mushrooms are hidden beneath the steamed eggs too.

Tempura Moriawase
This is the tempura of combination of prawns and eggplants. The tempuras were deeply fried for awhile just with a thin layer of tempura flour. They were all golden light brown colour and were very crispy and crunchy. I always love to eat these along with the creamy mayonnaise.

Salmon Sushi
Most people loves to eat raw salmon but this dish was really nice although the salmon was not raw. The salomon fish are fresh. It was burned using a fire until it was brownish colour on the top with just some salt which gave the salmon a crunchy texture later on.

Sushi Tei at Tropicana City Mall is one of the largest restaurants in the mall. It has many tables including a conveyor belt with seats in front, and also private rooms for big parties. Combine with the lemon and wasabi, and this is one of our most favourite sashimi in town.

I know I've used the word favourite a lot, and I don't profess to using it loosely, but the Dai Dai Roll (RM 13.80) is really something else. You'll be going back for your seconds. I obviously like this because I take wasabi with my sushi, but Adam who doesn't, also likes this, so that might be a helpful tip.

The Salmon Mentaiyaki (RM 16.80) is another must-try at Sushi Tei (or rather, anything to do with Mentai). Salmon Mentaiyaki is cooked salmon, topped with a generous layer of cod roe, and what tastes like mayo as well. The cod roe is super creamy and goes well against the salmon. You can't have too much of it though, it tends to get a little jelak after awhile. Eat while hot as it's not as good when it cools down. This dish is sinful maximum!
