I rarely come to Alamanda but came here this morning because the Immigration Officer told us to come back at 2 pm a there were too many people there. I went to the Info Counter and saw a brochure promoting the Lunch Sets at Chakri Express for RM 17.90 or RM 22.90 individual sets.
The ambience is quite cosy and overlooks the fountain and lake where the view is fantastic. If it weren't for the set lunch, I would not have come here as the ala-carte menu is higher than Elephant Thai.
I ordered the RM 22.90 set so that mum and I could share the food. It came with 2 starters which were in bigger portion than I imagined: 2 pieces of Popiah (Fried Spring Rolls) and also 2 samosa which were so crispy.
There was a very small bowl of chicken Tom Yam soup, served in the same size of bowl like mushroom soup at Pizza Hut. The soup was just normal and average. I am not a fan of chicken so I have no comments. The soup is not spicy and sour enough for me.
There was also a mini som tam (papaya salad) which was so delicious and the spice was just right.
The main dish was the fried Dory Fish with a special spicy sauce with white rice. I love thed fish the most as it was crispy and the sauce was thick enough.
