Kim Tavern @ sunway carnival OK Jul 30, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Noodles

This shop is just located beside KFC in Sunway Carnival mall. The dishes they sold is more Asian type kind like kopitan. They served variety food, ranging from Asian type, to Japanese, Western food as well.
I tried this last year, and when i went to this shop last few days, i found they have changed their Menu. I am not sure what is the exact meal, it should be black pepper chicken with rice.

Okay, i can remember their food taste quite Okay. It is just normal like other kopitan restaurant. While, the different in this shop is that they have more chinese waiter / waitress in stead of foreign worker. I like the environment of their shop too, they give a feeling of in house. There are mirror hanging on the wall and make the shop look bigger and the best is it will not create uncomfortable feeling with mirror around, it give more friendly feeling instead.

For the food, it is enough to fill in the empty stomach, it is not delicious until you will feel like, you will purposely go there for having meal. Is 6/10 marks.

Pineapple Rice OK Jul 28, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Malaysian variety | Western variety | Food court | Noodles

This is served in a stall selling Thai Food. Their food price is more reasonable compare to other stalls. The boss also treated you with lovely smile which let you feel they are really friendly.

This 1 is superb spicy. They cooked the rice with Pineapple and also mixture of chili. I ate this and the tears keep fall down as I don't realize they did cut the chili in the rice and I actually mistakenly consume it. While, after pick out the chili the taste is still nice. As you know, Thai food is always mixture of sour and spicy. I would suggest this if you like Thai Food. It is nice, but the chili caused me loss my appetite and loss the mood to really value how much it should score. Well, for the taste, i still will give 7 out of 10. smile

Buy 1 free 1 chicken rice OK Jul 10, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles | Mixed rice | Yong Tau Fu

There is always a promotion in Restaurant EST in livingsocial.com. There were always good response and I bought the chicken rice buy 1 free 1 voucher as well.
Actually I tried the chicken rice before, it is nice. But the sauce is a lil salty and my bf like that, because he always fancy on “saltier” food. The first time I went there, I ordered chicken rice added on the pork “lap cheong”. It actually costs me almost RM7. It was quite a shock to hear the price. This time I went there during dinner time. The quality is bad. The rice and the chicken is cold and I felt it is not fresh. So I would strictly recommend to go during lunch but not dinner time to ensure the freshness of food.
Restaurant EST is well renovated with air-con. I think this is why they price their food slightly higher. Even the roti bakar, it is very crispy but the price is about RM2 per plate [2 slides of bread]. Besides, I saw there are many singer photos as well. I believed the restaurant do invite those singer to perform sometime to entertain the customer during dinner time.
There is many different food stalls ranging from hokkien mee, curry mee, economic rice. This would be a nice place for lunch compare to kopitiam, as they have air-con. You can avoid getting sweat in fan kopitiam during lunch time.

Nasi Kandar @ Bali Bali OK Jul 03, 2012
Categories : Chinese | Café | Dim sum

Nasi Kandar is one of the famous foods in Penang, there is one stall selling delicious nasi kandar at reasonable prices locates in Jalan Sungai Dua, It is the first stall of Bali Bali reataurant. The business hour is from around 6pm to 9pm.
Just like the normal nasi kandar stall there are a vast variety of curries like Curry Chicken, Curry Prawn, Curry beef, Curry squid etc and fried chicken also. And you can choose to serve with white rice or tomato rice. Personally I prefer Tomato rice since it is more aromatic and fragrant.
I want to pin point that his beef is nice to me, it is not that sweet and not too spicy. It is kind of salty. It is a perfect match with nasi tomato.
Usually a dinner will only cost you Rm 5 something only, depends on what dish you take.

Categories : Chinese | Stall / Warung | Noodles

Gurney drive is a famous hanging place for food in Penang. There are variety local Penang Food to chose.

I came here just when there are friends coming for a trip to Penang. The variety food ranging from Kuay Teow Th'ng, Char Kuey Teow, Fruit juice, Fried Oyster and etc. What I like the most is actually the ikan bakar.

This is the char Kuay Teow that I like too...

However, as i said, this is a famous place for tourist, thus the price of food is much higher. Local Penangnites seldom choose this place to have their meal. The food taste average, I would say it is well known for the strategic location which is just nearby Penang Gurney Plaza.
