Counter
Nestled in the new shoplots of Kota kemuning, lies an artsy cafe cum art gallery on the 1st floor of street behind Chatime. Once enter, we were greeted by the warm smiles of the baristas and owners. The interior was classy and cozy with warm lights and polished wooden counter tops. The walls were mainly black coupled with some vanilla colored ones.
Simple menu
Half of the hall is where the cafe is, decorated with spotlights, black blinds and walls of glass. There's also a section with high back chairs to chill out with a cup of coffee and a good book. There's also another section with high chairs facing the greeneries and housing area of Kota kemuning, more suited for solo patrons.
Art gallery
The other half is where the art gallery is located. Many inspiring art pieces were displayed around the hall. On top of that, there's a long table in the middle of the gallery should you choose to dine there while surrounded by the lush colors of the paintings. All the displayed paintings are for sale as well.
Golden Wrap
I ordered the Golden Wrap and my partner had the Miss Sunshine. Both dishes were served with pesto based potatoes, garden salad and yoghurt. The Golden Wrap consist of an omelette with bacon, presented in a shape of a small cup while Miss Sunshine has a piece of bread cupping a runny egg. The sets come with coffee or tea.
Miss Sunshine
Serving time is a bit on the slow side probably because it's new and there were an overwhelming amount of patrons. But the waitress made it up by being courteous and keep on showing us her sunny, big smile.
The potatoes were nicely seasoned and it's a bit slimy. The garden salad were fresh and the dressing is not very sour. The yoghurt serves as a perfect finishing to the whole set. It's light, with just a hint of sweet and sour combination. The main portion of Golden Wrap was very artistically presented as it was baked with slightly salted strips of bacon enveloping the omelette. Miss Sunshine's bread goes well with the runny egg to make it an irresistible combination. It was a very satisfying breakfast!
Nutty Cake
We also had the nutty cheese cake which reminds me very much of Alexis' tiramisu! The nutty top part was nicely caramelized with tasteful sunflower seeds as the highlight of the cake. A layer of cream with chocolate chips were sandwiched in between the layers of sponge. It's rich and has a lot to munch on. Good for sharing.
Caffe Mocha
We ordered a cup of caffe mocha to go with the cake. The mocha is a real definition of kao! And not to be confused with most mocha where the chocolate taste is more than the coffee. This one is almost the other way round. It's good for those who like strong coffee with rich chocolate taste.
Golden Rose Mango
They are also having an opening promotion with 20% discount on food and drinks from now till 13 oct 2012. As well as 30% off on art pieces. They are also selling jars of Golden Rose Mango at RM22.90 and for each jar sold, RM1 will be donated to the charity.
Cater for morning and lunch crowd, they are only opened from 8am till 6pm and closed on Wednesdays. I hope they'll open at night soon! It seems like a good place to hangout especially at night.
