Reasonable price Smile Mar 15, 2016

When you pass by Jalan Kelang Lama after The Scott Garden, you tend to see a yellow banner hanging in front of the restaurant about their Dim Sum selling at RM3 per plate. This is considered reasonable if you are talking about nowadays Dim Sum price. Moreover, there are operating for 24 hour. You can enjoy RM3 Dim Sum all day long. In fact, apart from Dim Sum their ala carte menu not expensive either. Here are the dishes that I ordered for my lunch.

Teow Chew Style Steam Fish (RM45), this is simple Chinese recipe with simple ingredients such as tomato, preserved vegetable and tou fu. I like this dish so much because I can drink the “fish soup”. Sourish, sweet and appetizing.

Cereal Butter Prawn (RM75), it was smells good upon serving. Golden brown crispy cereal, curry leaves and chili padi tossed together with large size prawns. Thumb up!

Homemade Tou Fu (RM32), deep fried homemade tou fu topped with mushroom mince meat sauce. Simple dish yet yummy. Best eat with white rice.

Steamed vegetable (RM15), we were struggled for the cooking style of this vegetable, belacan or preserved beancurd or fried. Eventually, we have decided to fry as is. Sounds more healthy right?!

Since the Dim Sum is cheap, therefore, we have ordered 4 snacks complement the above main course.
Deep Fried Fu Juk (RM3)

Thai Style Deep Fried Tou Fu (RM3) , deep fried stuffed tou fu, best dip with the Thai style sweet and sour chili sauce. Tasty!

Sesame Ball (RM3), the only choice of filling is Lotus.

Deep Fried Prawn Fu Juk (RM3), to those who like prawn, please order this.

Overall foods were satisfying, big portion and reasonable pricing. Yes, their service is good too!

Something different Smile Mar 14, 2016

I believe you have been seeing the Facebook post about this restaurant recently. In fact, I have no idea what so famous about this restaurant. However, I just go ahead to try it.
It was Friday lunch hour, the restaurant was full and I have queue up for 10mins for table. Not only this restaurant, it’s same goes to other restaurant in this compound.

I wanted to eat spaghetti today but the server informed me that the only spaghetti dish was sold out. Therefore, I have Balik Kampung and Cottage Pie for main course and Minimalist for dessert.

We waited for about 20mins in order our foods to be served. Balik Kampung (RM22), is a Asian delight rice set consist of Percik Drumstick, Fragrant Rice, Egg and Thai style Mango salad. Percik drumstick was served hot, coated with flavourful aroma sauce but not spicy at all. I like the Thai Style Mango salad, sourish and really appetizing.

Beef Rendang Cottage Pie (RM22) was freshly baked out from the oven, is burning hot upon serving. You have to be careful as the serving pot is hot. I have scrapped aside the smashed potato to have a closer look at the Rendang mince meat.

The mince meat was less spicy, however, it was very flavourful with very good aroma of curry. Best eat with the toast!

In fact, I would like to order their signature pancake “I wanna be Kaya” but it looks too heavy for us after finish the main course. Thus, Miimalist (RM14) aka pancake which is more suitable now. This is very simple pancake served with butter and maple syrup. Light and fluffy pancake which is on my liking. This is good!

Overall foods are good, but the portion is a bit huge for ladies. We managed to finish half of the portion only.

Yummy Chic Meal Smile Mar 11, 2016

It was 3PM, I happen to have appointment around this area therefore I decided to drop by Nando’s for my late lunch. Lunch hour has pass, the shopping mall getting quite around this hour. Of course same goes to all eateries.

I do not want to take any heavy food hence I ordered Chicken Wrap RM13.90 otherwise I would like to have quarter roasted chicken instead. As for appetizer, I have Sweet potato RM9.90 for munching purposes and mineral water RM3.50 which deem guilt-free.

Chicken Wrap was served fast, it could be now is non-peak hour. The Chicken Wrap looks small when they served in a big plate. Well, not any issue. You will find roasted chicken, lettuce, tomatoes and dressing being wrapped with tortilla wrap. Portion is consider decent to me, juicy chicken (breast part) and tasty yet creamy dressing.

Sweet potato, deep fried in golden brown colour. Is just similar to French fried. However, the sweet potato is tasted sweet and dense. It served together with dipping sauce which tasted rich, creamy and slightly sour. Best for munching!

I am pretty satisfy the food I have ordered. Of course, the homemade sauce is the one I like the most.

Not much of the restaurants are available here at The Scott Garden, I just want to have a quick lunch hence just pick the one is the nearest to the car park entrance. Master Toast is considered the nearest café just next to the escalator apart from Wong Kok.

I am pretty hungry today so rice is the best choice now to appease my hunger. Set lunch is available too on weekday during lunch hour till 3.00PM. However, only 4 choices of main course available for selection and each main course comes with one drink- Barley or Herbal Tea only at RM10.90nett.

Curry Chicken Rice sounds good though. The Curry Chicken Rice set looks decent, served hot and very good curry aroma. It’s looks indeed appetizing, perhaps I am too hungry. When I have my first taste of the curry chicken, yes it is tasty. Chicken meat was tender, the curry gravy had rich taste of the spices. You will find few pieces of potato chunk and half hard boiled egg as well.

Cantonese Yee Mee, there are using normal soup Yee Mee, just cook the gravy and pour over to the noodle. To me, I would prefer those Yee Mee that restaurant usually use, those thicker version and being fried before hand. Anyway, the gravy is good, thick and light.

If you looking for café that cozy and quite environment, this is my recommendation to you.

Simple and delicious meal Smile Feb 25, 2016

You are right, I am the regular customer here. Proud to say, I almost tried half of the menu. I trying to order to different foods in every visit therefore I would not get bored eating the same food.

I would like to have western food today therefore I get myself Chicken meal named Escalope de Poulet (RM22.90), a French word. Basically, this is deep fried breaded chicken breast with tomato sauce spread lastly baked with cheese slice. Side dishes are blanch French Bean and fried wedges. It was very crispy when I first cut, chicken meat was very juicy and well marinated. I love the wedges, it seems like it was made of fresh potato rather than frozen wedges. The portion is consider huge for me as it’s very meaty, sharing would be good.

Fried Kuay Teow (RM10.90), this Char Kuey Teow was full of “Wok Hee”. Simple yet tasty, it was not oily at all.

I spotted next table has ordered Onion Ring which looks very appetizing. Hence, I want to have mine as well, sounds greedy. Onion Ring (RM5.90), it was made of fresh Bombay onion, well breaded deep fried in golden brown colour. It was nicely made using the fresh ingredient, as most of the restaurant using frozen onion ring rather than making the fresh one. Crispy outside yet preserve the original freshness of the onion.

What’s a satisfying meal I have! Enjoy!
