Crispy Honey Squid Smile Aug 16, 2012   (Related Review)

This is the Crispy Honey Squid (RM 20 for a small dish). The squid was really fried crispily to perfection and had a great taste of sweet and savoury together. Each piece of crispy squid was nicely glazed all over with honey and had a great crunch to it, not soggy in any way. Definitely something addictive that everyone, from young to old, will like. Very recommended!

Salmon Sashimi Smile Aug 16, 2012   (Related Review)

Sushi Tei at Tropicana City Mall is one of the largest restaurants in the mall. It has many tables including a conveyor belt with seats in front, and also private rooms for big parties. One dish we enjoy a lot at Sushi Tei is Salmon Sashimi. Five pieces of fresh salmon in acceptable thickness, served cold with a slice of lemon at RM 10.80. We really enjoy the sashimi here because it is served very cold, meaning it is fresh. Every slice is also thick and juicy with not a lot of fat, and the colour is a healthy pink. Combine with the lemon and wasabi, and this is one of our most favourite sashimi in town. smile

Pavlova and Mascarpone Smile Aug 16, 2012   (Related Review)

We had heard a lot about Suchan's Pavlova, so we were eager to give it a try. Alas, I wasn't very happy because the meringue shells were too chewy, and didn't melt in my mouth. The strawberries on top were sweet though, same with the cream inside the cake.

For our other slice, we chose the Mascarpone Cheese which thankfully, was more satisfying. This was rich and silkily textured with chocolate bits embedded in the smooth cheese. It was sweet, but I thought it could have been a lot sweeter. However the slice of cake was very thick, and the chocolate layer on top was very milky and tasted just like melt-in-your-mouth. The two pieces of cake, with two cups of tea was called the Cupid Set and it came at RM 28.

Traditional Soup Smile Aug 16, 2012   (Related Review)

Every healthy meal should begin with a bowl of soup. At Soup Restaurant, obviously we though the soup should be good! We started off with Traditional Boiled Soup of the Day (RM 20.80 for 2-4 pax). For us, the soup of the day was pork soup with corn and carrots. The soup tasted very sweet, with a very strong flavour of sweetcorn! This is because there was a lot of corn and carrots inside the soup, meaning a lot of good quality ingredients went into the soup. Another good point is Soup Restaurant does not put MSG inside their food, so everything tastes healthy and good. Overall, this was a simple yet satisfying soup that tastes just like homemade. smile

Fried Mee Suah Smile Aug 16, 2012   (Related Review)

Not being content with 4 normal bowls of rice, we chose to try a small portion of Penang Fried Mee Suah (RM 16)! Littered with taugeh, shredded meat, and cabbage, this was a satisfying, though slightly too salty, addition to the meal. However, the taugeh was juicy and crunchy, nearly like the famous Ipoh taugeh! There was also a lot of cabbage in the noodles, so the portion size was satisfactory. Overall we enjoyed this, and think it's a good substitute for authentic Penang Mee Suah. lol
