I was looking at Mid Valley Directory page and I recall this place called Reminisce Cafe which is located at Ground Floor, at the walkway outside where you can see the Maybank and Police Station, Reminisce cafe is just at the same row. I choose to dine in here for second time to try out their menu. I visited this place last three years and I realize they have change the layout and some added features in their unique cafe. Nostalgic moments ever, and I miss the decorations that is really eye catching and i will staring at those vintage collections for a couple of minutes and showing my girl and telling them this is Mummy childhood accompanies.

Reminisce cafe have extended and improve their menu and more choices of Local and Western food available. Local traditional food such as nasi lemak is a must try. Their chicken chop with different kind of gravy and sauce also looks appealing.

We ordered this Butter pork belly served with steamed rice for RM 14.90.

Fragrant and flavouful. The sauce was intensely creamy and rich. I want to give them the compliment on the sambal. It was really great! I love the sambal so much! Palatable dish with reasonable price.

Pan Mee Soup - The highlight for this particular dish goes to the delicious sweet broth and the combination of super spicy chili. Simple and traditional way of pan mee soup with minced pork meat, black fungus, spinach, fu chok, anchovies and pork ball. The portion of the smooth pan mee is quite alot for only RM 9.90.

Hot sun dried longan and luo han fruit drink RM 4.90. Best to have it during the hot weather

Blowing the biggest and round balloon game. When i see this, I quickly bought 3 tubes with 3 straws and begin to blow it to show my naughty kids. They are looking at me wondering what is this?? And they patiently waiting for me to blow the balloon. As far as i remember, during my childhood times, I used to buy this with my sister and cousins and we will make it into a teddy bear, and trying to compete who will be getting the biggest size of the balloon.

But firstly,we do a little bit of inspection to ensure each tube is soft. The sticky glue coming out from the tube will then attached to the corner end of the straw and we will start to blow it slowly and ensure there is no hole in between. If there is a small hole, we will quickly covered it up and continue to blow it. This is much more fun than the usual rubber balloon that we are using nowadays. Towards the end, the balloon will shrink and we make it into the smallest size and pinch on each others forehead..haha Gotcha!

My girl is still curious and was thinking what is mummy doing..Why the "Balloon" sizes is different and began to shrink?? Oh ya and why they become so sticky when it shrink??

Glance through the whole cafe surrounds with my childhood toys, musical instrument, my hobbies, collections and also the card game such as old maid, happy family and etc. There are comic books, stickers, telephone, typewriter, soft drinks bottle , the sticks game, guli and lots more!!..

Now my girl is throwing me a hard question.. "What is this??" Showing and pointing at the pair of old roller skate shoes? Hmm.. ok, now go and ask daddy instead.

The place is refurnished with more comfy place to dine in

The junk food that I always looking forward for after school and also every week will buy this . They also have Tora and Ding Dang selling at RM 3 each.

It is really a mix emotions when I leave this place. I MISS my childhood so badly and yes Reminisce Cafe aims to bring back the memories of the past. Nice place to dine in with family and friends. Service is good too.

Levain Boulangerie Patisserie is located at Jalan Imbi
where I can spot beautiful colonial-style bungalows, having a warm and lovely French-style Bakery Café. I love this place so much and I really miss the food here. Having the soft, warm and fresh breads and pastries while enjoying
a cup of aromatic coffee is the best thing to do during my weekends. Packed my kids stuff and we are ready to go for a quick brunch.

The parking is easy- just leave your car to the car jockey inside the cafe compound with blue shirt and they will handle for you. Just need to pay RM 2. Levain is always crowded as usual no matter what time it is. We reached around 12.30 and just the right timing to have a plate of spaghetti. With three kids around is never been easy, we get trained and new challenges we facing each time we bring them for outing.

Lucky we managed to find seats nearby the counter and no need to climb the staircase. The staff is helpful and clean the table. As we enter the cafe, the strong smells of the fresh bread really tempting and quickly grab the display bread. All looks awesome with some new pastries available too.

I ordered the Vanilla Latte and My girls choose these breads..and they love it all. Simple delicious Turkey and ham bread, accompanied by this cute Octopus hotdog.

Custard cream donut with cornflakes- Extremely soft with oozing custard that really melts in to my mouth.

Raisin Danish- Must have this

Palatable chicken bolognese spagethii .The portions is reasonable for the price we paid.

One of my favourite - Beryl's Chocolate Truffle cake. Moist and full of chocolates.

Assorted bread make fresh daily

Adorable breads with cute designs

Promotions going on and changes every month.

We have a wonderful time together and satisfied with the food.Yummy!

J Kitchen @ Plaza Low Yat Smile Sep 10, 2014

Categories : Chinese | Western variety | Restaurant | Pizza/Pasta | Steaks / Chops | Bak Kut Teh

We bought one vouchers
from Living Social offering RM10 for RM20 / RM25 for RM50 Cash Voucher for
All Food and Drinks (SStwo Mall & Plaza Low Yat) at J Kitchen. I heard
of this restaurant located in SS2 Mall and now they have opened second outlet
in Low Yat Plaza. Since working nearby we bought the voucher to try their food.
Located at LG floor just opposite Uncle Ben and Hong Kong's Food Culture .

J Kitchen is a restaurant that serve Fusion Bak Kut Teh - A
Cuisine with Combination of Chinese + Western Style. Their menu is quite
creative with the serving from rice to spaghetti topped with bak kut
teh/pork/chicken meat and etc.

We ordered the set lunch comes with one main course + drinks +
desserts. Glad to know that J Tean Kitchen is quite flexible to allow Living
Social customers to use their vouchers to redeem the set lunch too. The place
is crowded during lunch hour, but serving time is quite fast.

Refreshing Red plum juice and lime juice.

Dry bak kut teh rice. RM 16.90. Generous portion on the lean pork meat with flavourful gravy of the bak kut teh. Good to have it with the garlic and chili padi.

J-Porky Bun (RM16.90). Seasoned pork meat that is perfectly grilled and well marinated sandwiched in between the cucumber, tomato and chopped onions. The longish bun is extremely soft and crispy. The serving is really big and the huge pork patty is enough to be shared among two person.

Other fusion style in the menu which is the Lion Head RM 7.90. Three medium size pork meat with a bowl of sweet and sourish vegetables. The pork ball is delicious and juicy.

Complimentary mango pudding that is included in the set

Roast Pork Bun RM 8.90- The staff recommended this roast pork bun. He choose steam bun for us and need to wait almost 10 -15 minutes for the serving. The bun is soft and fluffy with tender braised pork slices. But towards the end, I find it a little dry taste on the pork meat.

Chinese style setting with comfortable seats arrangement. But the service need more improvement in understanding our request and orders.

Total bill is just around RM 50 and one vouchers is successful redeemed. Happy Tuesday!

tiramisu Smile Mar 07, 2014

Italian Tiramisu RM 18 - Lovely food presentation of the Italian Tiramisu, first time having this desserts. I usually thought Tiramisu will have lots of the cream serving. Surprisingly, the Tiramisu is the soft type with loads of cocoa powder flowing at the base when we scoop it. Served with mascarpone cheese, lady finger, coffee & grappa and cocoa powder. Grappa is a type of Italian brandy that is distilled made from residue of grapes after pressing in winemaking. Italian tiramisu is the perfect desserts choices for sweet tooth and for coffee lovers too. Delicious gourmet treats to tempt you and i really missing the taste now.
