Boston café has been around for such a long time but I have not actually review them just yet. Recently, after a steamboat gathering sessions with my fellow uni mates we went ahead to Boston for round two after meal drink. It’s like you can’t get enough of your friends when seeing them once in a long while. After the famous yuen steamboat at the mentari sunway, we went for a drink at the boston in sunway mentari. I ordered a hot soya bean at RM 3.95 and a hot coffee for RM 2.95 and immediately after a sip, I decided to call the review off and probably wouldn’t return for review anytime soon.

The communication barrier between the locals and the foreign workers are making things really difficult for the customers. I don’t blame the workers but I do put the management in charge with the blame. They should have train the waiters well before letting them serve the customers and taking orders. The drinks were really ordinarily bland

Kimchi stew  Cry Sep 29, 2013

Categories : Korean | Restaurant | Noodles | Private Party

The first time I tried the Korean Street Cafe is at their first outlet in the SS 15 Subang Jaya right opposite the Taylors college, and next to the Subway sandwich. They are one of the few restaurant or café which hangs around for a long time and is doing better than before. The Korean Street Cafe is one place that is perfect for non-halal Korean food lovers. The menu comprises of still some very authentic Korean dishes, but with a twist of the choice of ingredients. Instead of the usual pork there is kimchi stew with seafood in it. It was an interesting difference to what was normally served in the usual kimchi stew. Well a lot of the ingredients were replaced with local ingredient but it was nonetheless palatable. The ingredients are not so generous like before but were still tasty and good enough to satisfy the taste bud. It used to have big chunks of seafood and tuna which I can never forget but right now, it is served with fewer of those. The outlet in Sunway Pyramid is located at the asian avenue right next to the tako balls. The area is very secluded and can be quite a challenge to locate if unfamiliar with the layout in the mall and the avenue.

Waffle ice cream Cry Sep 27, 2013   (Related Review)

Many friends recommended the waffle ice cream in Brussels. When I finally had the chance to order one and trying it, I wished I would have gone to the A&Ws instead. The ice cream was okay, not too bad but really nothing to shout about. The toppings were generous and the sweetness is lovely and would be very much to the liking of many sweet lovers. The waffle was really bad, with batter flour that is really thick and not crispy on the outside. It lack fragrance and aroma too. I really wont recommend this to anyone unless one can't wait to proceed elsewhere for dessert.

Inconsistency  Cry Sep 06, 2013

Categories : Malaysian variety | Western variety | Restaurant | Steaks / Chops | Noodles

Having said this many times and still standing by to the conclusion about these fusion restaurants is that whenever they start to gain some bit of popularity, they started localizing themselves. The ingredients for some of the western or fusion dishes are replaced with the similar kind in Malaysia and by doing so really deteriorate the quality of the dish itself. Even when not looking at sophisticated dishes, simple things like the mash potatoes can be quite a mess for them as well. The problem at this and some of the many other fusion restaurants is that they try so hard to manage so many dishes, both western and asian. In order to offer the extension of varieties on their menu, they need to have all ingredients ready in case there is a order at the kitchen. But what happens when no one ordered what’s prepared, or when something is not the best seller at the restaurant. When it is not a common dish to order, the chances is high that the ingredients would have been kept for quite a while already. So the lesson I adapted from this is to go for the common dishes many people would order. That way, at least the food is still in good form of taste and shape. I had a horrible experience when dining at the station one usj outlet and vowed never returning to it. It must be fate cause I had to visit the station one in damansara the next day. I guess these fusion chains already established their reputation so well whenever there is one in any enclave, it would be the popular meeting point. I stand firm on my verdict after ordering the same thing I always ordered. The chicken was dry and almost loosing the flavour of chicken and the mashed potato is really sourish.

At least the mushroom soup is much better than the one in usj.

The pumpkin soup would be the joke of the day as it did not taste pumpkin to me at all. More like a mix of remaining pumpkin soup that is insufficient in amount to be served being topped to the amount to be served with some of their soup of the day or some sort. Blindfold me and I won’t be able to tell if there is pumpkin in it

The mushroom soup tasted really ordinary and almost like they are serving what was cooked two days ago. The meal was so bad, I vow not to return to this outlet.
