Worst cafe ever Cry Aug 09, 2013
Categories : Chinese | Western variety | Café | Steaks / Chops | Noodles

Cafe One 6 five is probably one of the worst restaurants I have ever reviewed in a long time. Having entitled to RM 100 worth of food and beverages, I couldn’t bring myself to proceed with anymore orders after the third dish.

First off is the Salmon fish steak which sells at RM 19.80. To begin with, the Salmon is served in the most pathetic size I have ever seen on any serving plate. Secondly, the salmon is horrible and I was really worried that I would probably get food poisoning after the first bite. I didn’t bother finishing the rest cause I was really worry I’ll get food poisoning from the fish fillet.

Next is the Fish & chips selling at RM 10.80. The taste of the deep fried fish fillet was not too bad, but too bad the fillet slice was so thin and stingy.

Then I decided to try the oriental menu so I picked the chef recommendation, but was told that some ingredients were not available hence they were unable to make that for me. I went with the Sizzling claypot yee mee instead. Selling RM 7.80, I thought it was quite a fair price given the ambience and the location. However, it was not extraordinarily delicious or outstanding.

Even the cappuccino and tea was ordinary but yet overpriced for something so ordinary. The cappuccino tasted really bland even for someone who does not appreciate caffeinated drinks. With RM 4.20, I recommend using that amount of money for a can of soft drink instead.

The cafe one 6 five was nicely decorated with posters of their signature dishes. One must not be fooled by those pretty photos. But the seats and lightings are quite comfortable.

I wish them best of luck and I am real sorry but you can’t pay me to return to this place. The food is not bad in taste, but I appreciate the cook to maybe put in a little more effort in selecting fresher ingredients. It is almost like there is no passion what so ever in cooking. If indeed giving up, please have some courtesy to not try and poison the customers with lousy food.

Ice cream for the soy bean lover Cry Aug 08, 2013

Categories : Chinese | Café | Juices / Bubble Tea / Tea / Yogurt | Ice Cream / Froyo / Gelato

Qbean is this dessert shop with mostly soya flavoured ice cream as well as the bubble tea series with soy milk in it. For once, I thought this was simply a disastrous as their bubble series were nowhere near any other popular pearl and bubble tea brands. The fact that those brands manages to sell themselves so well and thus setting a really high benchmark to the bubble tea with the sustaining current flavours as well as the constantly introduced seasonal flavours every now and then, it would be relatively difficult for them to actually sell for one to crave for it.

Not unless if you are a fan of soy milk or for some specific reason having any unique obsession towards soy milk, then I really don’t see how or why anyone would find their way to the shop for a cup of those bubble soy milk. It is quite interesting to see the flavours and I should probably give them the benefit of doubt as they have exciting and unimaginable mixture of flavours like the green tea soy milk, almond soymilk or flavour like the honey dew soy milk.

I landed myself with the soy ice cream, which disappointingly shuts me off this thing forevermore. Selling at a fair price of RM 4.50 with some toppings of your choice, I thought this reminds me a little like the Mc Donald’s vanilla sundae cone. Except that this is served in cup.

The moment I started putting them into my mouth and as the ice cream touches my tongue, the texture was soft and real smooth. And as it melts and linger a little longer, the flavour kept roaming off within seconds. It tasted mildly soy but blandly sweet. Simpler way to describe would be insipid.

I guess the Qbean might have to try a little harder with the branding and marketing and hopefully it reaches more soy milk fans.

Spending per head: Approximately RM5(其他)

Categories : Chinese | Desserts

Moving to my all time favourite which is the pudding, they have got quite a bit of interesting choices as well. I kind of like the caramel pudding even though I am no big fan of caramel. Wasn’t dulcified to extreme, and I love it just as it is.Also great was the texture and the slight chill in it, Making this delightfully tasty.

Skimmed milk pudding OK Dec 20, 2013   (Related Review)

Then there is this interesting item which I thought I must try it, double and skimmed milk custard. Haven’t had those in any other dessert shops. It was indeed new to me, and I kind of like the milky fragrant. The texture is smooth and intense just the right way of a good pudding.

Chicken Spring roll OK Dec 20, 2013
Categories : Chinese | Desserts

This Hong Kong chicken Spring Roll was very interesting. I really like the spring roll because the fillings were juicy despite the crispy fried outer skin. The chili sauce that accompanies only serve to enhance but was great and even more flavourful for those who can afford a perk of spiciness
