Tram Car OK Oct 22, 2014

Categories : Chinese | Western variety | Restaurant | Steaks / Chops

I heard so much about Tram Car from my ex-colleague, Pui Pui and I always wonder what is so nice about this place. Finally, one day, I came here for lunch with my colleague.

I ordered the Grilled Alaskan Salmon (RM 26.90) which was ok but a bit too dry for me.  I prefer a lot of sauce. The salmon had too many bones. I think my mum's salmon is way better than this.

The chicken chop (less than RM 20)  is better than the salmon as I liked the spicy and sweet and sour sauce.

The Mixed Fruit Punch (RM 9.90) was quite ok, not too sweet and quite fresh.

Overall, this cafe only scores a 3/10 for my review.

La Lot Vietnamese Cuisine  OK Oct 07, 2014

Categories : Vietnamese | Restaurant | Noodles

I have no idea what to eat tonight at Pavillion as we have eaten most cuisines from Western to Japanese, Chinese and even da chao. So finally decided on this since Tokyo street has too expensive ramen/udon and not worth the price.

The ambience of this restaurant is quite high-class and sophisticated. Naturally any restauran tat Seventh Heaven floor of Pavillion is expensive so I rarely come here.

My friend ordered the Traditional Beef Pho (RM 22.90). The pho was not as tasty as the others that I have tried and tasted more like koay teow thing.

I ordered the Seafood Pho (RM 24.90) which was better than the beef one because mine had more flavour due to the tomato taste in the soup. The little sourish taste gave me more appetite. But the prawns did not seem to be fresh enough.

The iced-lemon tea is way too sweet and diabetic.

The waiter unfortunately did not seem to be well-trained as he just roughly placed the drink on the table with a very loud sound. Not really a good thing in a fine restaurant like that.

Hop Hop Cafe OK Jul 19, 2014

Categories : Western variety | Café | Pizza/Pasta

Finally, I have reached this cafe! There was place for petting the rabbits, but way better than a petting zoo. Compared to the Cat Cafe in Penang, this one is much more reasonable because at Cat Cafe Penang, you need to order a minimum of RM 18 per person in order to get in and there are too few varieties in the menu, just some cakes and drinks. Here there are many varieties in the menu.

I ordered the spaghetti olio (RM 13.50) which is just normal. The prawns are too tiny and there are some small mini baby tomatoes sprinkled on top. Luckily, it is not as oily as the one at Pizza Hut.

My friends ordered the Meatball Spaghetti which they both shared. It seemed like the meatballs were too hard for them.

I ordered the Geisha Blossom pink mocktail (RM 12) which just tasted normal, not that special. My friend ordered Fireman Mocktail which was just normal too.

After lunch, I went into the petting zone and started petting the rabbits. There were many types of rabbits there. One could go camwhoring like crazy without flash. One of the white rabbits even went under my skirt!

Later, just before I went back, I noticed there is another pet are outside with a/c where dog owners bring their dogs to play with other dogs. It was such fun there especially if you feel lonely.

Strawberry Fields Cafe OK Jul 19, 2014

Categories : Chinese | Western variety | Café | Steaks / Chops | Noodles | Halal

Being the foodie, I was thinking that the only way to learn about more new places to eat is to ask your friends to suggest the place. So that was what I did with my gf. She finally suggested Strawberry Fields at PJ State.

The cafe is made of 2 shop lots. There were a lot of people dining there. Although I liked the night environment and ambience there where at some corners were World Cup balls and also P. Ramlee photos, the place was too hot and not airy enough. It would have been good if it were the real Cameron Highlands with cool weather. They should have installed some air-condition to make the place comfortable.

I ordered the Sizzling Chicken (RM 13.90) which came with really soggy french fries. The sauce was too salty and not to my liking.

I also ordered a red-coloured ice-cream float (RM 6.80) which was too creamy and sweet for me.

I guess drinks and food wise, even though there is many to choose from, it is just so-so. What more can you expect when the price is this reasonable.

Woh Fung OK Jul 16, 2014

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood

Here we are again, but the for the last time with our colleague's farewell.

We ordered the signature dishes.

First up is definitely the Assam Flying Fish which is silky smooth and tender. But somehow, now that I have tried the one at Sungai Way, I felt theirs is better in terms of fragrance and thickness of the kuah.

The other definite dish is the butter claypot pork pieces. I rarely eat pork but whenever I come here, it is weird that I actually eat the pork.

We ordered the plain fried bayam. Quite normal and like those at the economy rice stall.

The other dish that we always order is the Salted Egg Bittergourd. I do not like salted egg but I wonder why my colleagues always like this dish.

We ordered the smallest steamed tofu in the world which is infused with pandan.
