I first saw this place when I passed through it, looking for Youmiqi. The name, Piano restaurant sounds unique.

The ambience is very romantic and a lot of couples go there for dinner. It is encouraged to go there a little towards 9 pm because there is a nightly live band at 9.30 pm. I like all the songs played too.

I ordered Blue Marine Cocktail (RM 26) which has a bit too much thousand island mayonaise. The name attracts me so I tried the cold prawns.

The grilled combo platter (RM 58) was quite tasty and came with all things pork, from the german sausage to pork parts. I ate a little of it as I was worried of getting fat. I do like the sourish salad.

The Cassata Siciliana Gelato (RM 20) was just incredible. It came in a triangular cake format. The gelato is heavenly and came with a burst of flavours. Muy bien! Most bloggers also mention this dessert which has beautiful art of dressing.

How can anyone have German food without beer. So I ordered the Franziskaner Natural (RM 31) which has a sweet taste like most German beers. The beer goes well with the saltiness of the sausages.

The price of food here is also quite reasonable for this ambience.

Lee Hong Kee Restaurant  Smile Oct 12, 2015

This place is seriously so far from PJ and it took almost 45 minutes to reach there! We were worried there would not be a table available if we come for dinner so we came for lunch instead.

We ordered the Herbal Tea Pot Soup (RM 32) which was my top favourite. I love the clear soup which was has strong flavours of the pork that was probably used to slow cook this. The pork parts used were incredible! The best part was that this soup was served in small tea cups which made drinking it more tasteful. This place is very creative in presentation.

I ordered the Spinach with Crabmeat Sauce (RM 19) which was so reasonably priced. In Chinese, this dish is called Moonlight Dish because of the 2 egg yolks. The sauce is thick, probably cooked using a lot of corn flour. The small pieces of crab meat so I feel this dish is quite worth the price.

Another dish I would have regretted if I had canceled and I almost did since I was worried there were too many dishes for the day, was the Mini Bun with Fish Fillet (RM 20). Despite being fried till crispy on the outside, the tenderness of the fish is retained. The buns were also soft and fluffy like cotton.

Salted Fish with Green Spicy Sauce (RM 34) was also so delicious. The strange part is that the Chinese name is called One Night Stand. The fish flesh was so succulent. The sauce was just nice and not too spicy but the best part was that it was sour enough which made me like it.

I am definitely coming back here for the Lemon Paku-pakis and other unique dishes. The price is also very reasonable because 4 dishes only totaled up to RM 115.55! I could not imagine eating steamed fish for RM 34 in today's world in a restaurant!

Since I was dressed in the colour of red and black of the ubiquitious flamenco dress colour today, I have decided to go to La Cocina Spanish Tapas restaurant.

We can get a set of 5 tapas at RM 60 or RM 62 but I didn't choose that because escargot is not listed.

I ordered escargot (RM 16.50) which was so tasty. The sauce was also creamy to be eaten with bread. There is also free flow of warm french loaf bread to be eaten with the range of tapas that comes with a lot of sauce.

I also ordered the Lamb Meatballs (RM 12.50) which initially, I did not want to order because I mistaken as normal beefballs. I normally don't like beefballs but when I knew it was lamb meatballs, I wanted to have a try. The lamb is quite tender and delicious too. I especially like the red tomato sauce.

The other tapa I ordered was the New Zealand Mussels (RM 12.90) which were big and tasty. The mussels were also easy to remove. My friend especially like the garlic sauce which was spicy.

The Cream of Mushroom (RM 9) was just normal. Too bad it didn't have enough mushrooms which I would have preferred. I still like the mushroom soup at Uno! better.

I like the Sangria (RM 17) which was quite tasty. The sangria is strong.

My friend ordered the Spanish Blizzard (RM 7.50) that contains orange, pineapple and other fruits.

I had the Crepes with Cheese (RM 9.90) which was too creamy. I didn't like it so I did not finish it.

Juus  Smile Oct 11, 2015

Categories : Western variety | Café | Juices / Bubble Tea / Tea / Yogurt

I was on a JUUS detox programme. Guess what? It was my first detox in my entire life! I have never gone on a puasa/fast in my life anyway I am trying this.

The purpose of a detox are :
-Eliminate processed food from the diet
-Eliminate alcohol
-Reduce caffeine

The benefits of this detox are glowing skin, increase energy level, mental balance, stop craving of bad food and all around great feeling.

The Juus outlet in The School, Jaya One, is the first retail outlet in Malaysia. It was strategically located in front of Celebrity Fitness.

What makes Juus so different? They have premium cold pressed juice that are made fresh daily to last up to 48 hours. The juices are sealed and refrigerated, raw and pasteurized. The cold press method is used because it yields a smooth and pulp-free juice in terms of taste, extracts 3-5 times more nutrients. The slow speed of 60-70 PRM creates no friction and no heat and this will then preserve enzymes. No oxidation loss so it will last in the fridge. The juice is fully blended with minimal separation. It has no sugar, articificial colouring, artificial preservatives and flavouring.

The health benefits of juicing are :
-Boost your brain
-Build Immune system
-Builds bones
-Sleep Better
-Detox
-Meet your daily fruit and veggie quotient
-Ward off stress
-Improve Digestion

The whole package of juices are RM 79 for 6 bottles. All the drinks were so tasty, juicy and sweet without bothering about sugar inside.

For my programme, as soon as I wake up at 7.30 am, I had to drink the Power Cot that has carrot orange and turmeric.

The second drink at 10 am was Delight Green/Green Warrior which contains of spinach, apple, kyuri, pear, lemon, celery and ginger.

Thirdly, at 12 pm, I drank Beat the Beet that has beetroot, pineapple, carrot, ginger, pear, lemon and orange.

At 2pm, I drank Green Machine/bitter gourd/Dr Veggie that contains of apple, bell pepper, cucumber, kale, lemon, lettuce, spinach, parsley and pineapple.

Then I drank Tropical Delight/Pick Me Up/Lemon Grass at 4 pm. This contains of agave nectar, cucumber, lemon, lime, mint and alkaline water.

At 6 pm, I had the Almond Joy which consists of cinnamon, dates, maple syrup, raw almond, sea salt, vanilla and alkaline water.

All in all, the drinks are all so tasty.

Kuching Noodle House  Smile Sep 28, 2015

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

My Sabahan friend needed to fulfill his craving for Kolo Mee today. So we went to this place and surprisingly it has a/c which is needed in a hazy day.

My friend ordered a large bowl of Pork Kolo Mee with quite tasty roasted pork. The noodles are so smooth and springy.

I ordered the Sarawak Kuching Kolo Mee Laksa (RM 8.90) which was amazing and tastes like what I had in Kuching. The laksa is spicy enough and comes with the sambal which is not oily. There are shredded chicken meat and omelette, bean sprouts and also 2 big fresh prawns.

My friend also ordered Nyonya Loh Bak which is quite unique as there were white radish and carrots inside. I rarely say positive things about Loh Bak.

The Sarawak White Coffee is not bad either and did not have an overload of milk that covers the coffee taste.

The food is original because the boss is from Kuching. Definitely this is THE PLACE TO GO if you miss Kuching food. You can eat it at affordable price. No wonder it was brimming with customers on a Sunday afternoon. Thank god I came here albeit initially complaining that I have had too much noodles this week after my Bangkok trip.
