Long time no eat KFC Smile Mar 24, 2014

Long time didn't frequent to KFC and out of sudden this fast food restaurant crossed my mind. Okay just went ahead with one of their set lunch comprises of hot & spicy chicken, cheezy wedges and a carbonated drink. No doubt the chicken was very crunchy but the hot and spiciness weren't there. Not hot and spicy at all I would say. The chicken also smaller in size but minus the fat layer between the crunchy skin and the meat. Other outlets mostly come with big chunk of chicken but also with extra thick layer of fat between the crunchy part and the meat in which the reason for me not to frequent to this restaurant. Surprisingly the fried chicken in this outlet totally without the fat layer and because of this I don't really mind it being smaller in size. No complaint on the cheezy wedges except that is was served cold.

This Pan Mee Restaurant only serves three types of pan mee. Namely clay pot superior soup pan mee, dry & soupy pan mee. Hence make the ordering easier lot.

Below quoted from the menu.

Small (2 pax) RM 16.80

We ordered the clay pot superior soup pan mee and dry pan mee to share amongst. The clay pot pan mee consists of ham slice, fish maw, abalone slice, chinese spinach (yin choy), minced pork with mushroom slice and fried onion as garnishing. No doubt the soup was great with little msg I would say. Most importantly the pan mee itself having no flour taste, very fine and not overly thick since this was the 'koyak' pan mee (mit pan mee). If you get me tongue  ... As for me, I would still prefer their dry version of pan mee. Do drop by this place if you were some where nearby.

Fried Hakka Mee

Fried Hakka Mee

Love their in-house fried hakka mee in egg gravy. The sang mee or wan tan mee deep fried to crispy texture before the eggy gravy with chicken slice, prawn and vege pour on top of the noodles. Oh my, I just never got tired of eggy gravy particularly a nicely done Cantonese fried noodles (wat tan hor or yin yong). Hardly find a good egg gravy; either overly thick with too much of corn flour or too watery which not enough egg. This one of it that could satisfy my taste buds.
Nasi Lemak Chicken Curry

Fluffy fragrant rice not overly moist to go with their tender chicken curry and awesome sambal. Nothing to complain as it is pretty standard.

Another dish that I would higly recommend is their dry chillies fried rice. I don't have the photo here to share with but it is definitely a must try for those chilli and fried rice lover. The rice is fried to fragrant with dry chilli flakes served with fried chicken wing. Its really open up your appetite and make you craving for more but please ensure you request for less oil when you place your order.

Creamy Red Tom Yam  Cry Mar 06, 2014
Categories : Thai | Restaurant

Used to love clear tom yam or some may call it white tom yam. Due to the waiter high recommendation of their creamy red tom yam, we gave it a try with mixed seafood. It was really inviting with the aroma of the red tom yam once it served to us on the table. We helped ourselves one bowl each and no doubt the red tom yam was creamy and very flavourful. The only downside is, the soup became overly creamy and thick while it was still boiling or heating in the big bowl to the extent it turned to curry gravy texture and taste. Disappointment towards the end as I could not consume my tom yam soup just on it owns due to this reason. Seriously you may not want to have your third bowl as is no longer soup but more towards curry or dry tom yam perhaps ?

Salmon Steak Set OK Feb 27, 2014

Salmon steak just my thing but this, way too overcooked from perfection. From the look, it doesn't look like salmon steak. Revisit the menu; hmmm this is deep fried salmon in BBQ sauce served with mix vegetables. No wonder the salmon was so dry and tough. The set came with rice, miso soup and chawanmushi. I like the chawanmushi the most. Served hot and very smooth. Taste and smell great too.
