Tom Yam Smile Jul 25, 2012

The tomyam here is a killer! It’s definitely a must-try while you’re here. It’s the best tom yam soup that I’ve ever tasted. Not even Amarin Thai could beat this fellow at Nong & Jimmy’s. The soup is at the right consistency and flavours. It has a good balance between spiciness and sourness. It has loads of prawns, squids and button mushrooms thrown in together in this pot of yummy goodness.

I have a liking towards Japanese Curry and Hamburger. Unfortunately, Pasta Zanmai does not serve both these in one dish. So I made a request to have both of them together on a plate. After some negotiation between the chef and the waiter, the chef finally nods his head. Yeah! The hamburger is grilled to perfection where the beef patty retains its juiciness even though the exterior looks dry and tough. The Japanese curry is sweet to the tastebuds but leaves a hint of spiciness to it. Need I say more about the rice? Moist and fluffy!

Unagi Rice with Onsen Tamago Smile Jul 25, 2012

I liked the variety of dishes that were offered in Pasta Zanmai. Not only do they serve good pasta, they serve good rice dishes too. As I got my wisdom tooth extracted on that day, I do not dare to order food that requires heavy chewing hence I go for the Unagi Rice with Onsen Tamago. The fish is flavourful with the salty yet sweet teriyaki sauce. The rice is done just right, moist but fluffy. I loved how the onsen egg is done too. One poke into it and the filling just flows out onto the rice. Everything blends well together with the right flavours.

If you do not want to have its Lam Mee, you could opt for something spicier, the Curry Mee. It looked quite substantial in colour and it’s quite aromatic too. The curry is thick with just enough coconut milk. It wasn’t too spicy but it’s just right with a balanced flavour between the sweetness and saltiness from the coconut milk. It comes with long beans, potatoes and chicken too. Overall, it’s not too bad for a place that specializes in Lam Mee.

Chicken Hor Fun Smile Jul 25, 2012

I kind of liked that Lammeeya offers its menu on the walls. Tempting and delicious pictures of food of all kinds and flavours sure makes one hungry in its surrounding. The ambience is quite a good one with white theme where tables and chairs are white which gives a spacious and clean environment. I ordered the Chicken Hor Fun. Service was quick. I liked the juicy prawns and the sweetness in the soup. It doesn’t have the overpowering prawn flavours but it is subtle yet noticeable. But I reckon that the chicken slices were too little. They could do more with the onions for the extra aroma and kick. Overall, it’s quite ok with the smooth hor fun.
