Started messing around in the kitchen as a child, I'd rather go hungry than suffer the indignity of being fed mediocre food. My lifelong culinary obsession is to examine and adapt the recipes cryptically described in two Chinese treatises on gastronomy called 隨圓食單 (Recipes from Sui Garden) and 飲饍正要 (Compendium on Food and Beverage). Oh, hype around new trends in dining carries little relevance if any to how I eat out.
