Chicken Satay was good too as the chicken meat is as juicy as it is and with the not too thick peanut sauce. The succulent meat of the chicken satay is just perfectly done and the juiciness of it still maintained. It is fun sharing the sticks of satay as sidelines when dining with friends.Price: RM 9.90The Bakso bakar is some delight with to try for beef lovers. The grilled beef balls which comes with the juicy and bouncy meat balls is just perfectly grilled with the fragrance and aroma.Price: RM 8.90 continue reading

Me and my family had the chance to visit the famous Ayam Penyet after so long. You see, we are originally from the south, Johor and that makes Indonesian cuisine our routine. So here in kuala lumpur, we have been missing them so much. So we just had to try the frequently mentioned Waroeng Penyet out of curiosity, and our crave for original indonesian cuisine.Lets roll! Not much of a picture apparently, of the food. Since we took our pictures more. I had the regular Ayam Goreng Penyet which comes as ala carte during weekends, means we had to order plain rice and other menu as side dish. The Ayam Goreng Penyet is actually a freshly fried chicken served hot fresh from the wok, or whatever they used to fry those chicken with. Comes with pieces of cabbage, tomato, and cucumber. Served with the special sauce we love to call Sambal Belacan. All you need for a perfect dish is all given. The chicken was very satisfying as it served hot, so it tasted very original with all the spices, and very crunchy on the outer part yet so tender on the inside. No, the chicken meat is not dry as they managed to maintain the juiciness of the meat. Added with flaming hot Sambal Belacan, which you will always wanted to add more, and add those fresh vege to it. A spoonful of those ingredients to go with plain rice, yes you will feel like home. Well, we did! Even the rice tasted to so nice, and it smells so rice-y. Heh. My sister did order the Pecel Lele Penyet, which means Fried Catfish. They also tasted good. No fishy smells. Oh and not to forget the Keropok, or actually the snacks. That goes along just fine with the rice. Yes, sounds weird but it adds to the flavor! Try ordering Teh Botol Sosro, which is actually Camomile tea which tastes to light, and smells good. Not much of sugar taste, I used to have it back in Bandung and Jakarta, and the taste was similar! Yes, since its packed the same. Huehue. Well, that's more of my thought. Why don't yoh head down there and try those yourself? continue reading

Ayam Penyet (Flattened chicken). The fried chicken drumstick was served with some crunchy fried batter bits on top. Accompanying the chicken were the beancurd, tempe and chilli sambal. The chilli sambal was spicy and slightly sour. The chilli and fried batter bits compliment the fried chicken nicely. The fried batter bits were slightly salty. The fried chicken itself was juicy, tender and not oily even though it was deep fried. The coating of the chicken was salty as well. continue reading

Warong Penyet is served Indonesia traditional Ayam Penyet and other dish, always come with their special home made chilli. This dish named tempeh which is make by beans (not so sure). It taste a bit sour but the taste is nice! After you bite, you can see inside is only beans there. This is not crispy even it been fried but on topped with the crunchy thing, that is great!Another one is fried tofu, it looks just like normal tofu but it taste is a bit different. It fried till very tasty and you can feel it is a bit sour but the taste of sour is not that the tofu already expired, just the very fresh tofu taste. You can eat together with the special chilli sauce, it is very spicy but make the food tastier! continue reading

Warong Penyet in The Curves is one of the attraction among the street offering a change in Malaysian usual dining option with Indonesian cuisine.Ayam Penyet or Flatten Chicken is serves deep fried along with toufu, dollops, cabbage, and extremely spicy sambal. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. You can specify which part of the chicken you want. White rice have to be order separately. Whether it is the side dish or the chicken, it taste just as good and as fresh as how a wonderful dish should be. continue reading
