Ice Honey Lemon OK Aug 07, 2012   (Related Review)

Iced Honey Lemon

Iced Honey Lemon

Lemon juice has a very refreshing effect especially for quenching thirst and cleansing of oil. The Iced Honey Lemon at this restaurant is quite good with enough lemon taste and honey at just the right amount to sweeten it. And it is served in a glass jar with a wide mouth which really gave it a nice presentation. There was a slice of lemon for garnishing. I feel that the iced version has a slightly less dense taste of the lemon due to the ice. If you wanted a richer and stronger lemon taste, the hot version will be better.

Stewed Pork Noodle

Stewed Pork Noodle

I am quite a fan of stewed pork so I decided to order it to go with hakka noodles. Sliced pieces of pork belly was served with hard boiled egg and noodles. The pork belly was not too fat and it was a little tough meaning it was not braised long enough. A fatter piece would have given the noodles more flavour and better texture. But it was still pretty appetizing, and I did enjoy having it with thin hakka noodles which was quite springy and there was a good mix of flavours from all the ingredients.

Seaweed Soup Noodle

Seaweed Soup Noodle

The Seaweed Soup Noodle comes with quite a bit of ingredients. There were four pieces of pork balls, fish cakes, slice of corn cob, seaweed and spring onions for garnish. The soup tasted a bit bland as other than the taste of seaweed, there was little else. Seems like someone forgot to add seasoning. The fish cake was alright with a good springy texture. But the pork balls was really the saver. It tasted really dense and full of minced pork and was chewy. The flavour is good enough from the pork balls but it did not do enough to save this bowl of noodles.

Hot Honey Lemon OK Aug 07, 2012   (Related Review)

Whenever I am having a heavy meal, I would order a cup of honey lemon to clear my digestive tract. There is nothing like a hot steaming cup of lemon juice with honey which not only calms my mind but also soothes my senses.

The lemon juice had a refreshing taste of citrusy aroma and it was balanced with just the right amount of honey to make it a nice blend. A slice of lemon as garnish gave it the extra lemon taste it needs to complement your meal.

Egg Pop Milk Tea OK Aug 06, 2012

I have been hearing a lot about the Egg Pop Milk Tea and decided to try it. It was quite refreshing. The milk tea comes with tiny pearls but these are not the chewy type. The egg pop version is tiny bubbles of coffee extract. Each sip with the tiny pearls was an experience. The pearls pop upon contact and I can taste the coffee extract bursting out and mixing with the tea. Although the popping was quite creative, the coffee extract was quite mild maybe because they wanted to retain their tea taste and not be overpowered by the coffee. Good try.
